This is my first time doing something like this! I'm eimy.
Actually, I couldn't believe that I was somehow singing in Murai's first song written for IIDX, and I was filled with somewhat trembling and happy feelings.
Murai, thank you very much.
And thank you too, MAYA! (What else can I say?)

I'm very happy, but I also feel sorry that it was me...
When I listened to my own voice in the cabinet for the first time, it felt like my face was on fire, and I still can't be used to it.
I'm not that good at it, and I secretly play at my hometown.

Seiya Murai
So! I'm Seiya Murai, who's participating in the IIDX series for the first time with a newly-written song.
This time, I'm going to have a long conversation which is filled with stories, OK?

In my previous crossover "PinkRose", it seemed that my request "by all means, I'd like to compose here next time!", gained attention from the great sound directors, and the idea was suddenly given to me two weeks before the location test... until then, there wasn't a sign that I'd be offered it at all. May, maybe I was a backup artist? (^^;
Well anyways, I created this song without much time, and since I was ordered for "something like PinkRose2", (I've been getting this a lot lately... but [2] is DAWN in pop'n Carnival, so this is somehow [3]) I also had trouble selecting a female vocalist in a limited time.

Then, a memory was revived... howawa~wan♪

During a drinking party one day, eimy, who I usually work with and is a graphical designer part of the pop'n team, came to me feeling slightly tipsy and good, immediately started passionately talking and said "I'd like to sing~!".
I was also definitely very drunk and said "hmm, that's fine~. But first, let me hear you record your best song at karaoke. We'll discuss after that~".

Since something like that happened, I once again asked eimy.
"Will you sing in IIDX?"

She isn't a professional singer, but when I listened to the karaoke demo that I requested, I was convinced that if she had a good direction, it'd turn out well.
For example, would you rather eat out at a high-class three star restaurant, or make delicious food at home using good ingredients?...
For me, it's better to use my own skills in the latter, so I took that stance as well this time.
Also, I wonder if it's a bit interesting that two members from the pop'n team are participating here for the first time? I thought about this.

I didn't have time, so I wrote the lyrics myself (^^;。 Just about everything feels handmade♪ I'm a bit embarrassed about writing Japanese lyrics though....
Recording progressed very smoothly. How many times I thought "are you really an amateur?"... (laughs). She was quickly able to understand my instructions, and she was easier to work with than professional vocalists.

eimy said that she wanted the singer to be a secret after it was completed for a while... she seemed quite embarrassed.
However, the staff around me were very curious about the mysterious vocalist's identity, and asked me instead of eimy.

"Who's singing it?", "has this person sung before?", they were quite persistent about this...(^^;
Evading that was even more difficult than the recording.
It seems that the pop'n team members were somehow aware of this, but it's difficult to confirm with eimy... such delicate atmosphere seemed to last for several days.
It isn't easy to keep secrets (bitter smile).
Then, the information gradually spread, and everyone knew about it.
And this song was completed with a cool movie by MAYA, who's close to eimy!

eimy, thank you very much! GOOD JOB!! Please sing again♪
And MAYA, Thanks for the cool movie as well!! pop'n doesn't have these kinds of movies, so I'm infatuated with my song (laughs).

Actually, many of our staff members are talented people outside their professions. Something like I'm a programmer, but I'm also a guitarist.
As a director, the most enjoyable part is finding rough gems in a person, regardless of whether they're professional or amateur, polishing them, and making a song with them in it.
Well, I wonder if I'll look for more and more hidden gems within the company♪

Lyrics

So! I'm Seiya Murai, who's participating in the IIDX series for the first time with a newly-written song.
This time, I'm going to have a long conversation which is filled with stories, OK?

In my previous crossover "PinkRose", it seemed that my request "by all means, I'd like to compose here next time!", gained attention from the great sound directors, and the idea was suddenly given to me two weeks before the location test... until then, there wasn't a sign that I'd be offered it at all. May, maybe I was a backup artist? (^^;
Well anyways, I created this song without much time, and since I was ordered for "something like PinkRose2", (I've been getting this a lot lately... but [2] is DAWN in pop'n Carnival, so this is somehow [3]) I also had trouble selecting a female vocalist in a limited time.

Wow, that's embarrassing.
