Release Information
- Release date: July 13th, 2001
General Information / Changes
- Song list includes all the new songs from beatmania 6thMIX THE UK UNDERGROUND MUSIC.
- The SEPARATE gameplay frame was added, which gives the black keys their own columns rather than placing them in the space between the white key columns, like in beatmania IIDX.
- First beatmania III game to include LONG version songs, which are selectable alongside their respective original versions.
- However, the beatmania 6thMIX versions of Jack and Mark Get Busy! and SURGE LINE were replaced by extended versions of the songs.
- The beatmania III version of SURGE LINE was later added as a separate song in beatmania 6thMIX + CORE REMIX.
- However, the beatmania 6thMIX versions of Jack and Mark Get Busy! and SURGE LINE were replaced by extended versions of the songs.
- MOMENT's ANOTHER charts were added.
- Final beatmania III version with INTERNET RANKING.
- Black lanes (TRANSLUCENT OFF) modifier no longer needs a secret code.
- An option menu, which include beatmania III's new modifiers, was added on the song select screen. It can be accessed by pressing Start.
- Both players can use Foot play.

Codes & Unlock Information
Song Unlocks
These unlocks require playing with a FD. If the Internet Ranking course data are installed into Backup RAM, then all secret songs are unlocked without a FD.
- PINK DREAM
- Clear or play three times all songs in 6thMIX folder.
- Note: If you want to unlock PINK DREAM by playing in kobako (basic) mode, you will also need to play the practice stage.
- Lying on the bench
- Clear with a red grade or play five times all songs in 6thMIX folder.
- Note: If you want to unlock Lying on the bench by playing in kobako (basic) mode, you will also need to play the practice stage.
- Disabled the FLAW(LONG)
- In tsunagi (expert) mode, play four songs whose the sum of their notecounts have the same number except 0 for their last three digits, then clear the third stage. To play fourth stage is necessary, but to clear is not.
- Example: SURGE LINE (253) + BATTERY BOOM (260) + RECALL (309) + LAUGHIN (400) = 1222.
- FUNKY MODELLING(LONG)
- In kobako (basic) or shikomi (hard) mode, clear a Level 1 song with less than 50,000 points.
- sozai (free) mode
- Unlock all secret songs.
