Daisuke Kurosawa, also known as 96, left KONAMI in early 2017 and joined a newly formed music company named INSPION, alongside Takeshi Kuramochi, Masanori Akita, and Yuichi Tsuchiya.
2017 marks the end of the BeatStream series. However, unlike the DanceEvolution and ミライダガッキ FutureTomTom series, no offline patch was released for BeatStream アニムトライヴ, making the cabinets unable to boot once eAMUSEMENT support for the game ends on September 1st. Instead, KONAMI offered arcade operators a conversion kit of the BeatStream machines to a new BEMANI series.
The new BEMANI series introduced in 2017 is ノスタルジア (NOSTALGIA), which made its first debut in JAEPO 2016. ノスタルジア is a spiritual successor of the KEYBOARDMANIA series, as it focuses on a piano-based gameplay, although it has several differences to its predecessor both in gameplay and in cabinet design.
