2017

Daisuke Kurosawa, also known as 96, left KONAMI in early 2017 and joined a newly formed music company named INSPION, alongside Takeshi Kuramochi, Masanori Akita, and Yuichi Tsuchiya.

2017 marks the end of the BeatStream series. However, unlike the DanceEvolution and ミライダガッキ FutureTomTom series, no offline patch was released for BeatStream アニムトライヴ, making the cabinets unable to boot once eAMUSEMENT support for the game ended on September 1st. Instead, KONAMI offered arcade operators a conversion kit of the BeatStream machines to a new BEMANI series.

The new BEMANI series introduced in 2017 is ノスタルジア (NOSTALGIA), which made its first debut in JAEPO 2016. ノスタルジア is a spiritual successor of the KEYBOARDMANIA series, as it focuses on a piano-based gameplay, although it has several differences to its predecessor both in gameplay and in cabinet design.

On a less pleasant note, in spring 2017, KONAMI removed all of the artist pages from the BEMANI Fan Page website, and also dropped the long-standing beatnation Records name that had been in use since 2006. In fall 2017, KONAMI also started listing its in-house BEMANI staff as BEMANI Sound Team, and for a few weeks in pop'n music even went so far as to left in-house songs added to the game uncredited to them completely. Nearly all BEMANI songs done in-house since fall 2017 feature the BEMANI Sound Team name in front of the artist name. Individual artists are also now unlisted in live events, just called the collective name of BEMANI Sound Team.
