General Information

  • Released: October 2000.
  • First game in the series to have EX notecharts. Much like when Hypers were introduced, few songs have them.
  • Takayuki Ishikawa (dj TAKA) makes his debut, as does Osamu Migitera (Des-ROW) and Kida Shunsuke (Kiddy & The Sunshine Lovers).
  • Sugimoto Kiyotaka starts writing his own music for the series. He would write multiple songs a game until Pop'n Music 8.
  • First appearance of MZD as a rival character, though his role in Pop'n Music dates as far back as Pop'n Music 2.
