Revision as of 14:20, 13 January 2020
Am I the only one who thinks that we should change around the categories for people who actually work on a game versus those who contribute to it? I think it's weird to call TAKA a staff member for jubeat when he contributes to the series as much as good-cool does to the actual franchise of IIDX. He just provided music, not actually worked on the game. I think it's a little misleading to call someone who makes a song for a series a staff member, considering how many commission artists Bemani has who have absolutely nothing to do with the games outside of providing music for them.--M.B. 21:08, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Can't speak for anyone else, but my reason for labeling people as "staff" was based on the way I'd seen it done with IIDX and pop'n music - in that the only label available for the artists per game was either "IIDX Staff" or "Pop'n Staff." pop'n music and IIDX have some separation between music artists and more game production-related roles, and the latter roles are usually separated as such. So with the "staff" label, I always understood it as more of a label for artists. There's some confusion there, but I don't think it's a major issue, at least for in-house artists. Commissioned artists deserve a nod for the reasons you mentioned, but I wouldn't see a problem with the way the categories are now either. -- Ryujin 21:45, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I could make a separate category for outside / commissioned artists, if that would help prevent confusion.--M.B. 02:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Works for me. I'll relay this to Dan so he can add his input. -- Ryujin 14:06, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for posting late, been a bit under the weather today. I don't think it's a bad idea if you wanted to add a category for commissioned artists, but one problem I see is with ex-Konami staff, such as Mr. T and Tatsh, commissioned to add songs. How would they be categorized? CardinalDan 03:21, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- Both? Both categories are technically correct, so that's how I'd do it. -- Ryujin 14:15, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Any reason why fellows has a red page link now? --M.B. (talk) 12:52, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- I guess fellows and fellow are not one song. --Ginzo (talk) 12:57, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- fellows will be in REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! Upper effective tomorrow as part of TAG's choice in BEMANI MUSIC FOCUS. --Tsugaru7reveng (talk) 13:00, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
The Saori Watanabe thing
- Apparently this alias was used before, back in 2003 on a Diverse System album: https://vgmdb.net/album/49623
- Curiously, it appears that the artist name on the fifth track, the one originally credited to one Saori Watanabe, was eventually blanked out: http://web.archive.org/web/20030803172911/www.diverse.jp/cd/heritage.html
- Considering this album also features TAKA's good friends Osamu Kubota and TaQ, and cover designer itch had earlier been in IIDX for the video of the song Spooky, I think this more or less confirms that Saori is TAKA. Any objections? --M.B. (talk) 15:59, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- That's quite interesting, thanks for pointing it out. Besides that, Saori's song is after all the other TAKA songs in the song ID list, pretty much confirming that it's indeed him. --FinalOffset (talk) 16:23, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
TAKA's departure
- The tweet simply says "Farewell Midtown" so is office relocation not out of the question? KA does have more than one office. [1] --t7r (talk) 03:47, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
