Profile

Riyu Kosaka (born January 17th, 1985 in Kanagawa) was the lead vocalist/lyricist of former BEMANI J-POP group BeForU, and the only member to stay in the group from its conception in 2000 until its dissolution in 2009. She was also featured in more singles in BEMANI than any other vocalist from BeForU, most of them composed by Naoki Maeda, who scouted her out.

Since leaving BeForU, Riyu has sung songs for various anime and video games and is currently signed on to 5pb records. Her first single since her BeForU days, 最初のMELODY, was released on October 26th, 2011.

Trivia

• Riyu wrote the lyrics to Wish me luck!!!!, which is used as the ending theme of the 2018 anime Harukana Receive (はるかなレシーブ).
  • The song itself, composed by Naoki Maeda, marks the first time Naoki and Riyu have collaborated together since 2006.
  • Additionally, Riyu also provided vocals for '鳥の詩 (NAOKI RE:mo2 VERSION）' on Naoki's 2018 album Dynamite Dynamite Rev. -NAOKI SPECIAL ALBUM-.
  • She's also appeared in NAOKI's mobile rhythm game SEVEN'S CODE, Step Revolution's StepManiaX, TAITO's テトテ×コネクト, and SEGA's maimai でらっくす.
