- Game interface is a re-skinned DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME with new menu music by Sota Fujimori.
- Recent DanceDanceRevolution dancers BUS and TRAIN, first seen in LONG TRAIN RUNNIN', are playable for the first and only time in the series outside of BEGINNER charts.
- Licenses show a generic Dancemania logo, instead of listing their Dancemania album of origin.
- CONGA FEELING and DREAM A DREAM have their videos and new graphics first seen in DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution-.
- First Japanese CS DanceDanceRevolution release to feature a license from a European CS Dancing Stage title - Wannabe.
- Can unlock everything in DDRMAX CS, DDRMAX2 CS, and DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME CS through System Data Support.

EXTRA STAGE
To access the EXTRA STAGE, you must clear a song on HEAVY or CHALLENGE difficulty with at least a AA rating on your Final Stage. You will be forced to play PARANOiA -Respect- on HEAVY difficulty, with 1.5x and Reverse enabled. As usual, your dance gauge will not increase with each correct step.
A similar system is used for certain unlockable songs; upon reaching a respective song's unlock threshold in a session, clearing the Final Stage will show a "New Song Unlocked!" message in the same way as the "Try Extra Stage!" message, and you will be forced to play said song's HEAVY chart, with Reverse enabled, and with a non-replenishable dance gauge. However, this will be overriden by the actual EXTRA STAGE if those conditions are reached instead.
Unlock Information
Unlike other DanceDanceRevolution titles, song clears are only counted if EVENT MODE is turned off, and any unlocked songs will appear upon starting a new session. As previously mentioned, certain songs (Freedom, I Need You (Insideout Door Mix), Can Be Real, STARS☆☆☆(2nd NAOKI's style), PARANOiA -Respect-) will act as an EXTRA STAGE in their initial unlock, but they'll remain unlocked whether it's cleared or not.
