2017
KONAMI officially launches a BEMANI series in with ノスタルジア (NOSTALGIA), which had made its debut the year prior in JAEPO 2016. ノスタルジア is a spiritual successor of the KEYBOARDMANIA series, as it focuses on piano-based gameplay, although it has several differences to its predecessor both in gameplay and in cabinet design.
Unfortunately, 2017 also marked the end of the BeatStream series. Unlike the DanceEvolution and ミライダガッキ FutureTomTom series, no offline patch was released for BeatStream アニムトライヴ, and the series went offline permanently on September 1st. Instead, KONAMI offered arcade operators a conversion kit to change their BeatStream machines to ノスタルジア ones.
To add more sad news, in spring 2017, KONAMI removed all of the artist pages from the BEMANI Fan Page website, and also dropped the long-standing beatnation Records name that had been in use since 2006. In fall 2017, KONAMI also started listing its in-house BEMANI staff as BEMANI Sound Team, and for a few weeks in pop'n music even went so far as to uncredit in-house songs completely. Nearly all BEMANI songs done in-house since fall 2017 feature the BEMANI Sound Team name in front of the artist name. Individual artists are also now unlisted in live events, just called the collective name of BEMANI Sound Team.
