Backstory
AFRO is the unnoficial "face" of DDR. He's been around since the beginning of the series. An entrepeneur who owns a number of businesses, he even runs his own club just so he can dance there. Day or night, he's always on the dancefloor. "To keep an eye on things," he says.
His club business is going well. He hits the dance floor day and night in the name of "research."
"Once the renovation is finished on the club, we're gonna have a rockin' anniversary party. Of course we'll have good music and food... and you know the place'll be bouncin' with all the fly honies!"
One year since the 10th anniversary party, AFRO now runs his own "Brand New Funk Fashion" attire company. He has found a ray of light for his "AFRO size" problem.

- AFRO and LADY are the only DanceDanceRevolution characters that have action figures released of them.
- In the box of these figures, he was called "The DDR MAN".
- In some American DanceDanceRevolution CS games, AFRO is renamed DISCO.
- AFRO's face appears in some of PARANOiA MAX ~DIRTY MIX~'s animations in beatmania 5thMIX.
- AFRO appears in pop'n music 10 as the rival character for DDR MEGAMIX.
- He also appears as the rival character for AFRONOVA PRIMEVAL from pop'n music 14 FEVER! onwards, and for BUTTERFLY(DELACTION REMIX) as well, with some new animations.
- LADY and NAOKI appear in AFRO's FEVER! WIN animation, in the 1P and 2P colors respectively.
- AFRO appears in KONAMI's PlayStation game Bishi Bashi Special 3 Step Champ.
- AFRO and Smith-shi appear in an illustration of the Triple Journey website.
- AFRO appeared in the TV show Ugly Betty, on the episode Queens For A Day.
