Character Backstory

Born in LA, Siren has long had dreams of becoming a Hollywood actor. (He wouldn't mind being a Brad Pitt type of personality.) Nowadays, though, he's happily working as a teacher at the English school DOVA in Tokyo. How did he get to Tokyo from LA, you ask? As it happens, Siren played a lot of Hiphopmania in the US (don't ask me how or where!), and went to Japan when he heard IIDX was released to try his hand at 7 Keys. He had absolutely no concept of modern Japan, and thought that samurai, geisha, and ninjas were part of everyday life. (Reality was a little disappointing.)

Siren is still a pretty active IIDX player in his night life. In fact, it's not unheard of for him to drag his students down to the game center to show off. (Siren has a bit of a superiority complex, and he loves basking in their awe.) Unfortunately for him, Yuz noticed the commotion once; unfortunately for Siren's superiority complex, he was challenged right then and there. Needless to say, Yuz smacked him down in front of his students. Siren is not t3h DJ YUZ, but he's a pretty good player. (He'd have to be at least decent to appear on the A results screen for so many styles.)

Siren's been a fan of minimalist techno since his LA days. Recently, he's been getting closer to QJACK, who's been teaching him what life in Japan is really like in the modern world. Since he's a fan of ROOTS26 (isn't everyone?), Siren's also been seeing a lot of Lilith lately ... which puts him on Shem's "bad" list, unsurprisingly. He gets along with Eiri ... because he has to!

Trivia

• Siren is one of the voice announcers for beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE, alongside Himmel, and where he is also able to transform into a special battle suit called "Powered Suit EAGLE" as featured on the game's title screen.
