General Information

  • Released: March 1999
  • Like the original Pop'n Music, there's only one difficulty level for songs. The easiest is Masara, which is a 5. The hardest is Heavy Metal, which is a 23.
  • This is the first game in the series to have speed modifiers. However, the only one is 2X.
  • Famous J-POP artist Ichiro Mizuki sings Anime Hero R. He's had a career in singing songs for various mecha series in Japan since the early 1970s. He also appeared in the first Nintendo 64 Ganbare Goemon game, where he sang the song Ore wa Impact (I Am Impact). Incidentally, Anime Hero R is the only song from this game that would get an EX chart in the future, which in did Pop'n Music 9.
