General Information
- First Dance Maniax game and first BEMANI game to show full-screen video behind transparent note lanes.
- Dance Maniax 2ndMIX changes many things from the previous version:
- Starting the game directly forces the player enter the COURSE SELECT in MILD difficulty. To enter the mode selection, hold the right button depending on the player's side on the title screen and then press Start.
- The options menu is now always shown to the player, just after mode selection.
- In music select mode there is a new difficulty popup. This removes the only use of the IR sensors in the menus.
- All perfect, great, and good judgments are displayed as "OK" and all misses are displayed as "BAD". This change is only visual and the scoring is unchanged.
- Two players in versus mode can no longer play on separate difficulty levels.
- In music select mode the player(s) will now first pick three songs, then play all three songs back to back. The extra stage still occurs after the results screen.
- In addition, the number of coins per game as a song allowance (depending on the number of stages in Test Mode) is removed.
- First Dance Maniax game to have a chart rated 9 stars.
- First Dance Maniax game to feature Marathon Mode. In this mode, all 28 new songs are played back to back with a very strict life bar.
- New songs: 28
- Total songs: 53
