General Information / Changes

• Direct port of beatmania 4thMIX.
• Sound effectors are now available. The only effects available are various forms of reverb, which can be selected in the Options screen. The effector can be toggled on or off during gameplay.
• First beatmania APPEND game that uses its own independent memory card slot for save data.
  • Previous beatmania APPEND games, as well as all BONUS EDIT games, use the same memory card slot as beatmania CS / beatmania APPEND YebisuMIX; only one of the aforementioned games can share that slot.

Unlock Information

Unlock Hidden 4thMIX Songs in HARD Mode

• You will unlock the hidden 4thMIX songs in HARD mode when you clear either HARD mode or an EXPERT course.

Unlock BONUS EDIT Songs in HARD Mode

• You will unlock the BONUS EDIT songs in HARD mode when you clear either HARD mode over 20 times or four EXPERT courses.

Unlock EXPERT Courses

• You will unlock the following course when you either clear an EXPERT course or HARD mode:

1. SPECIAL

• You will unlock one of the remaining four Expert courses - in the numbered order listed below - every time you clear an EXPERT course:

1. ANOTHER
2. HORRIBLE
3. BONUS

Hidden Commands

Activate Play Mode or Modifier for Main Game

The information in this section pertains to beatmania CS, beatmania APPEND 3rdMIX (mini), APPEND GOTTAMIX, and all games with a BONUS EDIT mode (4th/5th/GOTTA2/Club) when BONUS EDIT mode is active.

• To activate a play mode or modifier for the main game, you must do so from the PRESS START BUTTON screen and then choose GAME START after you activate it.
  • When you activate a play mode or modifier, a confirmation sound will play.
  • Any active play mode or modifier will be deactivated if you go back to the PRESS START BUTTON screen, or if you choose anything other than GAME START.
  • Only DOUBLE PLAY or HIDDEN PLAY can be active; it is not possible for both DOUBLE PLAY and HIDDEN PLAY to be active at the same time.

Play Modes

• DOUBLE PLAY
  • While holding down all three white keys (or Left, Square, and X on a standard PlayStation controller), press the START button, then release the white keys and hold down all two black keys (L1 and R1).
    • When DOUBLE PLAY is active, it is applied to the side currently playing the game.
      • In PRACTICE/NORMAL/EXPERT mode: 1P or 2P
    • DOUBLE PLAY in the main game acts like "1-Credit DOUBLE" from beatmania 2ndMIX and later.
      • "1-Credit DOUBLE" is similar to FREE mode in certain CS beatmania games, in that you pick any song that is listed; however, you can only pick two songs.
      • Unlike certain AC beatmania games in the series, you do not need to separately enter unlock codes for any songs.

Modifiers

• HIDDEN PLAY
  • While holding down all two black keys (or L1 and R1 on a standard PlayStation controller), press the START button, then release the black keys and hold down the left and right white keys (Left and X).
    • When HIDDEN PLAY is active, it is applied to all sides currently playing the game.
      • In PRACTICE/NORMAL/EXPERT mode: 1P, 2P, or 1P & 2P
