General Information / Changes
- Despite being titled beatmania (ビートマニア), the game combines a port of the arcade game beatmania 2ndMIX and a CS-exclusive version beatmania APPEND YebisuMIX.
- The name Yebisu is a reference to Yebisu Garden Place (恵比寿ガーデンプレイス), where the KCEJ WEST office was located at the time.
- First and only CS beatmania to be released on two discs, labeled as ARCADE on DISC 1 and APPEND on DISC 2.
- Introduces the KEY DISC and APPEND DISC systems, which were used for some of the other CS beatmania, DanceDanceRevolution, GUITARFREAKS, and pop'n music games.
- This game's ARCADE disc was originally the only KEY DISC until beatmania BEST HITS was released (as well as later titles).
- Unlike the arcade version of 2ndMIX (and all future arcade versions), this game (and all future CS versions) allows the player to start a game on just the 2P (right) side.
- It is possible to play just on the 2P side in the arcade games, but you must do so by starting a game on both sides, failing a stage, and then continuing on just the 2P side.
- Only CS BEMANI release to feature the original 1986-1998 italicized KONAMI logo in-game and on the packaging (the BEST edition shows the newer 1998-2003 logo).
- First BEMANI project worked on by Hiroyuki Togo, who would remain a prominent staff member of the CS beatmania series.
- Total songs: 23 (2ndMIX), 9 (YebisuMIX)
