  • Much like SHION, MANA's character has the same name as the song title.

Since SHION is a yukionna, let's go with a mermaid next!
And it feels like Yoshi-kun firmly decided on it.
Yoshi-kun was busy, so I was very worried since the character was created first, but I was glad to receive a cool song!
I created detailed animations for her.
Her design was inspired by the story of The Little Mermaid, so I tried to express her fixed gaze from the sadness and frustration of not being able to talk to the person she loves, even whem he's close.
Unfortunately, she's a fish, and a different species... I wanted to mix her prettiness with an eerie feeling, so people wouldn't relate to her.
I had a stronger impression of "The Red Candle and the Mermaid", which I read when I was a child, than The Little Mermaid, so mermaid's somehow have a scary image. They feel very beautiful, pure, and cruel.

But, when I thought about the story of The Little Mermaid once again, the story isn't really satisfying. Andersen is heartless. Did something very bad happen to him back then?
