Artist Information
- Name: Hiroshi Takeyasu (竹安弘)
Profile
Hiroshi Takeyasu (born July 9th, 1966) is one of the earliest BEMANI artists, working in the original beatmania along with Reo Nagumo and Tomomi Ohta. Hiroshi is credited for giving the idea of a DJ/club theme for beatmania upon hearing Kiyoshi Mizuki's original idea for the game, and pushed for electronic/club music to be featured on it. He was a big contributor to pop'n music, and was the sound director of the first four arcade games.
In 2000 Hiroshi left the pop'n music team to work as the chief music producer of ParaParaParadise, then a sound supervisor in beatmania IIDX for beatmania IIDX 4th style and 5th style, and then as the music producer of DDRMAX2 and DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME. He returned to the pop'n music team again in 2003, where he stayed until his eventual departure from the series altogether.
Hiroshi stopped contributing music to BEMANI after pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE, though he continued on BEMANI albums as an A&R director until at least 2012. While it's unknown what he did between 2012 and 2019, as of 2020 he is currently again at KONAMI as part of their in-house music staff.
Trivia
- Prior to working on beatmania, Hiroshi Takeyasu composed music for some of KONAMI's arcade and NES games, his work dating as far back with the company as the mid-1980's.
