2017

KONAMI officially launches a BEMANI series in with ノスタルジア (NOSTALGIA), which had made its debut the year prior in JAEPO 2016. ノスタルジア is a spiritual successor of the KEYBOARDMANIA series, as it focuses on piano-based gameplay, although it has several differences to its predecessor both in gameplay and in cabinet design.

Unfortunately, 2017 also marked the end of the BeatStream series. Unlike the DanceEvolution and ミライダガッキ FutureTomTom series, no offline patch was released for BeatStream アニムトライヴ, and the series went offline permanently on September 1st. Instead, KONAMI offered arcade operators a conversion kit to change their BeatStream machines to ノスタルジア ones.

To add more sad news, in spring 2017, KONAMI removed all of the artist pages from the BEMANI Fan Page website, and also dropped the long-standing beatnation Records name that had been in use since 2006. In fall 2017, KONAMI also started listing its in-house BEMANI staff as BEMANI Sound Team, and for a few weeks in pop'n music even went so far as to uncredit in-house songs completely. Nearly all BEMANI songs done in-house since fall 2017 feature the BEMANI Sound Team name in front of the artist name.

However, it also left far more lasting effects in the series than just an added moniker in front of in-house artist names, including:

• BEMANI Namahousou (kari) (BEMANI生放送(仮)), the live show that showcased various BEMANI activities, had its host fired and replaced with Yuki Nakashima. No in-house BEMANI staff have since been appeared on the show following the June 28th, 2017 episode.
• Otoca♥d'or (オトカ♥ドール), an arcade card game that was regularly updated since its debut in March 2015 and featured BEMANI artist Seiya Murai doing its soundtrack, ceased music updates completely after July 2017.
• BEMANI artist Akhuta's interview page was taken off of the KONAMI employee interview page. His was the only one on the page that was from an in-house BEMANI musician; all other pages are still currently up.
• In-house artists are no longer credited in live shows, only referred to as BEMANI Sound Team in scheduled listings.
• BEMANI artist albums published by KONAMI have ceased completely; the only albums published by KONAMI since the change that are vaguely BEMANI related either involve HinaBitter♪ or Tokimeki Idol (ときめきアイドル), as both are Konami Digital Entertainment franchises (BEMANI games are by Konami Amusement instead).
  • BEMANI game OST production has also slowed down significantly.
• Most in-house BEMANI songs since October 2017 don't have their artist name on the song jacket (though this has occasionally been zigzagged).
• Song comments on new songs in DanceDanceRevolution A and pop'n music うさぎと猫と少年の夢 stopped after early fall 2017.
  • In the case of pop'n music うさぎと猫と少年の夢, virtually no new characters were illustrated for the game after summer 2017.
• In-house artists on the beatmania IIDX 25 CANNON BALLERS website are exclusively credited to BEMANI Designers. Unlike the BEMANI Sound Team incident, where the artists were eventually credited, this has not yet been reverted.
  • In-house jacket artists for SOUND VOLTEX IV HEAVENLY HAVEN were somewhat unaffected by this change until mid-2018, where less and less artists have been credited.
  • Be a Hero! and all of the BEMANI SUMMER GREETINGS songs don't credit their respective jacket artists.
• The 10th anniversary event of jubeat in jubeat clan, clan kakumichi original characters & songs (clan各街オリジナルキャラクター＆楽曲), exclusively involved commission artists, and all of the jackets for the event were commissioned as well.
  • The commissioned jacket trend has continued into jubeat festo.
• The ENCORE/PREMIUM ENCORE STAGE songs in GITADORA EXCHAIN don't have unique videos, the first ones that don't since the first two ENCORE STAGE songs in GITADORA.
• Around late September/early October 2018, KONAMI removed virtually all arcade BEMANI pages form their website. They now link to their Japanese game page instead. The following game sites were removed (not including old BEMANI pages previously removed):
  • All beatmania pages.
  • All beatmania IIDX arcade pages prior to beatmania IIDX 19 Lincle.
    • All CS beatmania IIDX pages.
  • All DanceDanceRevoution arcade pages prior to DanceDanceRevolution X3 VS 2ndMIX.
    • All CS DanceDanceRevolution pages.
  • All GuitarFreaks & DrumMania pages prior to GITADORA Tri-Boost.
  • All jubeat arcade pages prior to jubeat saucer fulfill.
  • All pop'n music arcade pages prior to pop'n music ラピストリア.
    • All CS pop'n music pages.
    • The pop'n stage page was also removed.
  • All REFLEC BEAT arcade pages prior to REFLEC BEAT colette.

January

• January 11th:
  • jubeat prop ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK released.
  • jubeat Qubell ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK released.

February

• February 11th: The 6th KONAMI Arcade Championship and 天下一音ゲ祭 全国一斉認定大会 2016 are held at JAEPO 2017.

March

• March 1st:
  • ノスタルジア is released to Japanese arcades. Conversion kits for BeatStream cabinets are offered to arcade operators by KONAMI.
  • beatmania IIDX 24 SINOBUZ ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK released.
• March 15th:
  • Hinatabi Bitter Sweets♪'s third album, Home Sweet Home, is released.
  • Coconatsu's second mini-album, バイナリスター, is released.

April

• April 12th: REFLEC BEAT 悠久のリフレシア＋VOLZZA ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK released.
• April 20th: ノスタルジア is released to Korean arcades.

June

• June 28th: episode 178 of BEMANI Namahousou (kari) (BEMANI生放送(仮)), the last numbered episode of the show, is aired. The show would go on a month long hiatus, and the original host fired. Upon its return in July, it will be hosted by Yuki Nakashima alongside various other commissioned/contest artists, aired far less frequently, and no longer have any in-house BEMANI staff on the show.
• June 30th: Jin Senbonmatsu leaves KONAMI after 11 years with the company.

July

• July 19th: ノスタルジア FORTE is released to Japanese arcades.
• July 26th: jubeat clan is released to Japanese arcades.
• July 31st: jubeat clan is released to Korean arcades.

September

• September 1st: eAMUSEMENT support for BeatStream アニムトライヴ ended, marking the end of the BeatStream series as eAMUSEMENT is required to boot and no offline patch was released for the series.
• September 6th: GITADORA Matixx is released to Japanese arcades.

October

• October 4th: SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS e-AMUSEMENT CLOUD is released in Japan for PC.

November

• November 1st: All in-house BEMANI songs start being credited to BEMANI Sound Team. The reason for this is unknown.
• November 15th: Hinatabi Bitter Sweets♪ and Coconatsu's album, SWEET SMILE♡HEROES, is released.

December

• December 13th: The change of "BEMANI Sound Team" was partially reverted, with the in-house artists now being credited as BEMANI Sound Team artist.
  • OST booklets from 2018 forward also list in-house BEMANI artists as Konami Amusement (artist name).
• December 21st: beatmania IIDX 25 CANNON BALLERS is released to Japanese arcades.

Unknown date

• Daisuke Kurosawa, Yuichi Tsuchiya, and Masanori Akita leave KONAMI after 10, 17, and 18 years respectively at the company. They all go to work at a newly formed music company named INSPION
• After years of commissioned work in BEMANI, Takahiro Fukase officially joins KONAMI sometime late in the year.
