The CLASS CHECK MODE (クラスチェックモード), or REFLEC Dojo (リフレク道場) in REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! and REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! Upper, is a mode containing a series of courses ranked so that each course is harder than the last. The difficulty level of the highest rank course cleared is often used as an indicator of the overall strength of the player.

REFLEC Dojo

REFLEC Dojo is featured in REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! and REFLEC BEAT groovin'!! Upper. Its Ninteishiken (認定試験) courses use the Kyu/Dan grading system much like beatmania IIDX.

During the FIRST and SECOND ROUNDs, players have the choice of three or two fixed songs (respectively) that can be freely chosen. However, the FINAL ROUND song is always one. The only exception to this is the Saikou Shihan (最高師範) course, which has only one fixed song for each ROUND.

Songs in REFLEC Dojo are played with the LIFE system: players start with 200 HP, and if it reaches 0 while playing, they will automatically lose. LIFE is slightly recovered at the start of each ROUND.

Note: With the removal of One More Time on October 29th, 2014, this song was replaced from the 5th Dan (五段) course by いーあるふぁんくらぶ.

CLASS CHECK MODE

CLASS CHECK MODE was introduced in REFLEC BEAT VOLZZA as the successor to REFLEC Dojo. Unlike the latter, this time there is only one fixed song for each ROUND.

CLASS CHECK MODE also introduces a Gauge system, replacing the HP meter of REFLEC Dojo. It works similarly to the previous system, although the Gauge increase/decrease percentages are as follows:

  • JUST REFLEC: +1.25%
  • JUST: +0.15%
  • GREAT: ±0%
  • GOOD: -1.0%
  • MISS/MISS (JUST REFLEC): -2.5%

REFLEC BEAT VOLZZA/VOLZZA 2

By clearing one of the courses for the first time, players will acquire 10 VOLZZA KEYs.
