Lyrics

Note: The first section of the lyrics is spoken, and does not appear in the lyrics booklet.

On a moonlit night,
The figure of you is reflecting in the water's surface like a mirror.
I have a dream.
Your next meet was an easy race.
It is a miracle.

I'm here.
You seemed to hear. You're aware of me,
turned your head round, and gave me a kind smile.
Please stay a little longer.
Without being noticed,
I concealed my emotions by stealth.
before waking...

I can never stare at you.
Therefore I want to approach you.
I can never step into you.
It goes without saying anymore.

That place where I longed for adds to brightness.
I see our distance is far so much.
Still I pray I want to touch you,
reflect me in your eyes sometimes.
With that alone it's my dream...

Song Connections / Remixes

  • The spoken dialogue is louder in the game version of MANA than it is in the OST version.
  • The version of MANA used in the GuitarFreaks & DrumMania series has a different drum track.

Trivia

  • MANA is one of the unlockable songs of Phase 4 of pop'n music 20 fantasia's Soreyuke! pop'n quest (それゆけ!ポップンクエスト) event. It could be unlocked from May 23rd, 2012.

  • A 3P palette for MANA is available for inputting the code found at the back of the pop'n music card PG20R010/016. The code must be inputted at the final e-AMUSEMENT screen, where your already unlocked Secret Characters are shown.

Music Comment

The undulating bass splashes like a violent wave, engulfing everything...!

Song Production Information

This song received an audio comment from composer DJ YOSHITAKA.
We hope you enjoy the uneasy feeling between the two people.
※In the latter-half, DJ YOSHITAKA says "ta-u-"... which means "a sung song".

◇◆ Listen to PON & DJ YOSHITAKA's comment ◆◇

Video Production Information

None.

Character Information

Under the deep, deep sea, lives a siren.
If we didn't meet, would we have never known these feelings...?

shio

Since SHION is a yukionna, let's go with a mermaid next!
And it feels like Yoshi-kun firmly decided on it.
Yoshi-kun was busy, so I was very worried since the character was created first, but I was glad to receive a cool song!
I created detailed animations for her.
Her design was inspired by the story of The Little Mermaid, so I tried to express her fixed gaze from the sadness and frustration of not being able to talk to the person she loves, even when he's close.
Unfortunately, she's a fish, and a different species... I wanted to mix her prettiness with an eerie feeling, so people wouldn't relate to her.
I had a stronger impression of "The Red Candle and the Mermaid", which I read when I was a child, than The Little Mermaid, so mermaids somehow have a scary image. They feel very beautiful, pure, and cruel.

But, when I thought about the story of The Little Mermaid once again, the story isn't really satisfying. Andersen is heartless. Did something very bad happen to him back then?

masaru

This is the first audio comment!

tokky

The spinning background noise sounds like a whirlpool or splashes, and sounds cool!
An image of swimming in a torrent comes to my mind.

Ga~su~

The high-speed feeling is impressive!
The guitar at the end is especially cool! Everyone, please love it as well.

Chihi

I'm impressed that shio worked very hard...
It feels like there weren't many young female characters who were fully wholehearted~
From the moment you start walking, you'll be moved by various flashback scenes!

TAMA

This is a moist, steady, cool, and sad song.
I'm looking forward to his next upper song.

wac

Yoshi-kun seems to be the busiest man in the BEMANI world now.
It was very difficult for him in many ways, but in the end, he created a nice song, with a water splash.
I wasn't going to repay him, but I didn't create a song for limelight.
I'm sorry!!!

Mameshiba

This is the second mermaid song.
It feels like KIRARA is a bright idol mermaid, but MANA feels like she has a dark side. But, she's nice.
I like the end of the chorus.
Let's all feel excited!

The unlock quest, "The Voice from the Deep Sea", appears after clearing the "Tired Madam", "Therefore, she's female", and "Idol Mermaid Concert" quests.
"Therefore, she's female" is a red quest, with the unlock conditions stated here.
