Osamu Kubota majored in linguistics at the French literature faculty of the University of Tokyo. His debut in music was a band keyboardist in 1989. Prior to that, he began piano lessons at the age of four. In 1999, he joined KONAMI at the recommendation of [[Taku Sakakibara|TaQ]], [[Tatsuya Furukawa|good-cool]] and [[Takayuki Ishikawa|dj TAKA]]. Being one of the most unique artists to step into BEMANI, Osamu provided the games with a variety of tunes, often incorporating sounds from all over the world. Unlike other artists in the series, Osamu was more driven to a more classical sound, offering jazz, classical and swing pieces.

Profile

Osamu Kubota majored in linguistics at the French literature faculty of the University of Tokyo. His debut in music was a band keyboardist in 1989. Prior to that, he began piano lessons at the age of four. In 1999, he joined KONAMI at the recommendation of TaQ, good-cool and dj TAKA. Being one of the most unique artists to step into BEMANI, Osamu provided the games with a variety of tunes, often incorporating sounds from all over the world. Unlike other artists in the series, Osamu was more driven to a more classical sound, offering jazz, classical and swing pieces.

Aside from BEMANI, he works extensively with both TaQ and onoken on TaQ's ongaq production company and recording studio. Osamu also participated in a range of video games, television and movie scores, albums, and band projects.

  • Osamu speaks eight different languages (Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean and more) as noted by his friend dj TAKA in the song comments for 1989.
  • Osamu was one of the few recurring beatmania IIDX artists who never had a song with a chart rated Level 12 on ANOTHER.
  • Osamu was the arranger, orchestrator, and conductor of five tracks on The Epic of Zektbach -Ristaccia- in 2008.
    • He also did the same job for the tracks on the second disc of wac's 音楽.
  • Osamu has his own recording studio, Musique de Poche S.A.R.L. Japon.
  • Osamu composed L'episode for SEGA's rhythm game CHUNITHM PLUS, his first rhythm game appearance in half a decade.
  • Osamu collaborated with owl＊tree, under the syrah＊tree alias, in the song Jörqer, from owl＊tree's pvq album.
    • A short version of this song appears in SEGA's maimai, CHUNITHM, and オンゲキ.
  • Osamu has also appeared in some of Diverse System's albums such asAD:PIANO and works.
  • None of Osamu Kubota's beatmania IIDX songs have appeared in beatmania IIDX ULTIMATE MOBILE, or can be listened on the MUSIC PLAYER on the game either, due to copyright with JASRAC.
