  • Rating system was restored back to the classic 1-99 scale in the first location test. The second test, as well as the final version of the game, uses the traditional XG 1-10 scale.
  • Classic Mode removed, and with it all non-XG songs/Long Version songs.
  • New songs do not feature videos, but instead CG characters playing guitars and drums, not unlike Guitar Hero. Older GuitarFreaks / DrumMania songs with unique videos are now put in the background a la DanceDanceRevolution X2/X3.

Extra Rush Information

Extra/Encore Stage Requirements

  • Extra Stage: Obtain a net total of 0 points over a playthrough, where for a given song:
    • SS = 3 points, S = 1 point, A = -1 point, B = -3 points, C = -5 points, D = -7 points.

When accessed, an Extra Stage-specific song may be played in addition to any song on the regular songlist.

  • Encore Stage: Obtain 95.00 achievement ratio on an Extra Stage-specific song (marked in red on the songlist) without using any Auto modes. When accessed, the Encore Stage (and only the Encore Stage) will be made playable up to the highest difficulty level played on Extra Stage.
  • Climax Stage: Not available yet in XG3.

Unlocking Extra Rush Stages

Before reaching a designated Extra Level, the Extra Rush Stages may be unlocked into Standard play by obtaining a specific achievement ratio on the song. These percentages are listed below:

Extra Level 1 (2/23 - 3/7)

  • Brown blizzard: 95%
  • Snowy India: 98%

Extra Level 2-3 (3/7 - 4/18)

  • Brown blizzard: 90%
  • Snowy India: 95%
  • Genesis Creation Narrative: 98%

Extra Level 4 (4/18 - 5/16)

  • Brown blizzard: Clear the song.
  • Snowy India: Clear the song.
  • Genesis Creation Narrative: Clear the song.
  • Predator's Crypto Pt.1: 90%
  • Hard distance: 95%
