Dancing Stage featuring TRUE KiSS DESTiNATiON

Release Information

  • Release Date: July 27th, 1999.

General Information / Changes

  • Game's song list consists of songs by the J-POP band TRUE KiSS DESTINATiON, plus two new KONAMI originals.
    • Artist info is not shown in-game since the main music focus is on said group.
  • TRUE KiSS DESTiNATiON songs have "Licensed by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), Inc." displayed in place of an artist name.
    • KONAMI originals show "KONAMI ORIGINAL MUSIC" on-screen.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to run the menu interface in 480i mode, though gameplay still runs in 240p.
    • This feature would later appear in future Japanese Dancing Stage titles as well.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to run at 60 frames per second.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to use an options menu instead of unlock codes for modifiers, though only at the beginning of a game; they cannot be changed afterwards.
    • Modifiers include: HIGH SPEED (arrows scroll at double speed), HIDDEN, and MIRROR. VERSUS and DOUBLE can also be selected from the options menu.
      • It is also the First DanceDanceRevolution game to feature speed modifiers.
  • Two hidden difficulties are available: SUPER MANIAC (Single only) and FREE (Single and Double), the latter which has lowered notecounts to allow for freestyle routines.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game not to feature on-screen dancers.
