Dancing Stage featuring DREAMS COME TRUE

Release Information

  • Release Date: December 25th, 1999.

General Information / Changes

  • Game's song list is composed of songs by the J-POP band DREAMS COME TRUE.
  • Artist info is not shown in-game since the main music focus is on DREAMS COME TRUE, however it does show each song's license.
  • Scores are not displayed during gameplay.
  • Lyrics are displayed during gameplay.
  • Difficulties ratings are measured in "heels" rather than "feet". Each large heels represents a whole value, while a small heel represents a half value.
  • Difficulties and modifiers can only be selected before entering song selection.
  • Both players must play the same play settings in Couple/Versus mode by default.
    • To enable separate play settings for each player, both players must be holding the X button as the second player joins in.
  • A Step Up option (among BASIC, TRICK, and MANIAC) is available that increases the difficulty each stage. It will only appear if the maximum stage count is set to at least 2 or higher.
    • In Single/Couple/Versus play, the second-last stage will be on TRICK difficulty and the last stage will be on MANIAC difficulty. Any stage preceding these two stages will all be on BASIC difficulty, if available.
    • In Double play, the last stage will be on TRICK difficulty with all preceding stages on BASIC difficulty.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to offer speed modifiers besides x2. The mainline DanceDanceRevolution series would not receive these until DDRMAX -DanceDanceRevolution 6thMIX-.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to feature special arrow types. This practice would later be adapted in DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA2.
