General Information / Changes

• First DanceDanceRevolution game with 1/16th steps. DanceDanceRevolution only featured 4th and 8th steps.
• New modifiers were added such as TURN (RIGHT, LEFT, SHUFFLE), APPEARANCE (HIDDEN) and CUT (LITTLE also known as CUT1 in recent releases).
• The EXTRA STAGE system present in DanceDanceRevolution was removed.
• 3 exclusive STEP BATTLE songs were added. These songs are only playable in two player mode. They use a special competitive game mode where each player records steps, then plays the other player's recorded steps. The game alternates between the two modes until the end of the song.
• The game received an HD remaster in DanceDanceRevolution X3 VS 2ndMIX in 2011.
• In LINK VERSION, the Play Mode ALL MUSIC was added along with 5 new songs.

• AFRO (アフロ), LADY (アフロ、レディ): Hold down the Right button when the game start or hold the → foot panel when pressing the Start button.

• SINGLE, COUPLE, VERSUS, DOUBLE: Press and hold both the Left and Right arrow and then press Start to open the style menu.

• BASIC: On Play Mode, press ↑↑ on the foot panels.
• ANOTHER: On Play Mode, press ↓↓ on the foot panels.
• MANIAC: On Play Mode after doing the ANOTHER code, press ←←←→→→←→ on the foot panels.
• ALL MUSIC: On Play Mode after selecting the HARD mode, press the Right selection button four times in the Link Version only.

• TRIP MACHINE: Obtain a S rank on any song, and the song will appear in the FINAL STAGE.
• SP-TRIP MACHINE ~JUNGLE MIX~: Obtain a SS rank on any song, and the song will appear in the FINAL STAGE.

Hard Mode

• MAKE IT BETTER (So-REAL Mix): Obtain a S rank on any song, and the song will replace MAKE IT BETTER in the next stage.
• BRILLIANT 2U (Orchestra Groove): Obtain a SS rank on any song, and the song will replace BRILLIANT 2U in the next stage.
• PARANOiA MAX ~DIRTY MIX~: Score 30,000,000 points on any song, and the song will appear in the FINAL stage.
• PARANOiA KCET ~clean mix~: In the Link Version after playing an EDIT DATA song before the FINAL STAGE, the song will replace PARANOiA.

Other

• PARANOiA MAX ~DIRTY MIX~ (in roulette): Randomly selected when choosing ROULETTE.
