Kanako Watanabe, better known by her Kanako Hoshino (星野奏子) alias, is a vocalist who joined KONAMI as part of the BEMANI Vocalist Audition 2004. Since her debut in beatmania IIDX 11 IIDX RED, she has sung several songs and written lyrics for other artists' songs in the BEMANI series. Kanako was also involved as a campaign girl in the KONAMI STYLE 5th anniversary campaign. Her songs were mainly composed by DJ Yoshitaka, though she has since collaborated with other artists.
Kanako left KONAMI in 2008 and joined NIPPON COLUMBIA. She also became affiliated with HIGH KICK ENTERTAINMENT inc. and worked with artists such as ikutaMachine, Nao Harada, and Yoshiyuki Kinoshita. However, she continued to release songs and albums through KONAMI until 2011. She left HIGH KICK ENTERTAINMENT inc. on September 2016, and is currently working as a freelancer.
Trivia
- Prior to joining KONAMI, Kanako was a finalist in the screenings to join the female girl groups Morning Musume in 1998 and avex dream 2000 in 1999, and also served as a MC of TBS TV's variety show Rank Oukoku from 2000 to 2002 [1].
- Kanako has also appeared in UNLIMITED STUDiO's SEVEN's CODE and TAITO's テトテ×コネクト.
