Release Information
- Location test dates:
- January 26th to 27th, 2019 (JAEPO 2019)
- September 12th to 15th, 2019 (Tokyo Game Show 2019)
- Platform: Android, iOS
- Release date: December 9th, 2019
General Information / Changes
- First game to use the original beatmania IIDX logo since beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS.
- Can be played using a touch screen or the beatmania IIDX Entry Model controller.
- Only Single charts can be played.
- Game is not keysounded, unlike traditional beatmania IIDX games.
- A GUIDE SE option is available, similar to the one in newer pop'n music releases.
- Since version 1.0.2, GUIDE SE options typewriter, clap and tambourine are available.
- If any chart contains Backspin Scratches, they count as Charge Notes if playing on a touch screen.
- A GUIDE SE option is available, similar to the one in newer pop'n music releases.
- Song videos are removed.
- Effect options, TARGET SCORE, money score, and BPM aren't shown during gameplay; only EX-SCORE is.
- Timing adjustments can be done from -20 to 5.
- All FAILED lamps are shown in flickering blue, regardless of song difficulty.
- ASSIST NOTES mode option available, which reduces chords of two or more notes to just one simultaneous note(s). Using it counts as an ASSIST CLEAR.
- Premium currency is DX DIAMONDS. DX DIAMONDS can be purchased and used to charge AP.
- Three options available:
- GAME PLAY: main mode available to both free and subscription players, including songs from every version of beatmania IIDX up to and including beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE. 100 songs are playable by default. AP (stamina) is limited to 100 AP, and must be refilled over time. Only BEGINNER and NORMAL charts are playable in this mode, and MUSIC PLAYER is unavailable. Subscription options remove AP limitations, increase the song list to over 1000, and add HYPER and/or ANOTHER charts depending on the subscription level.
- GAME VIEW (requires Ultimate subscription): similar to TRAINING MODE in previous CS releases, you can view the charts for each song (excluding LEGGENDARIA charts) as well as rewind, fast-forward and repeat certain sections of the song. Both Single and Double charts can be viewed, unlike GAME PLAY.
- MUSIC PLAYER: play thousands of songs from various BEMANI soundtracks (except for beatmania, Dance Maniax, DanceDanceRevolution, KEYBOARDMANIA, MAMBO A GO GO, ParaParaParadise, and SOUND VOLTEX) and BEMANI artist albums.
- Two subscription services available: Standard and Ultimate. Both have MUSIC PLAYER, though they differ in the following ways:
- Standard: costs 480 yen a month, disables AP costs, and lets you play HYPER charts. MUSIC PLAYER only covers beatmania IIDX songs.
- Ultimate: costs 980 yen a month, disables AP costs, and lets you play ANOTHER charts. MUSIC PLAYER covers all above mentioned BEMANI series.
- Difficulty levels for songs are based on HEROIC VERSE.
- Songlists also only feature songs that appear in HEROIC VERSE's songlist.
- Any artists involved in JASRAC copyright issue from beatmania IIDX INFINITAS carry over, including Keiichi Ueno, Tetsuya Tamura, and Osamu Kubota among others.
- In addition, any good-cool/TaQ songs made after 6th style, any Shoichiro Hirata song made after 9th style, and any songs from Mr.T after 10th style (except for both Surf on the Light and XENON II 〜TOMOYUKIの野望〜) do not appear as well.
- From version 1.0.1, the volume can be adjusted, and also symbols ($&.*#!?-) can be used for the player name.
- Version 1.0.5 added the "Ultimate Recommended" (アルティメットおススメ) folder, and LEVEL folders were moved below the VERSION folders.
- Version 1.0.8 revamped the main menu due to ULTIMATE LEAGUE events, and options bottom is moved to upper screen instead of lower screen.
- As part of the Spring fresh campaign! (春のフレッシュキャンペーン!) event, which began on April 30th, 2020 and ended on May 20th, 2020, all songs in the HEROIC VERSE and ULTIMATE MOBILE folders as well as the GAME VIEW feature are available to all players regardless of subscription level or unlock status. Difficulty restrictions are still in place for GAME PLAY mode.
