  • Release Date: 1999

General Information / Changes

  • Difficulties have been renamed: ANOTHER is renamed to TRICK, and MANIAC is renamed to SSR (Step Step Revolution).
    • SSR cannot be selected while in 3rdMIX mode. It can only be used in a separate SSR game mode, which only allows playing of SSR charts, or in 2ndMIX mode, where all difficulties are available.
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to feature the Vivid noteskin, in which notes are colored according to their beat. It is enabled by default, except in SSR mode, where it requires a code to be activated.
  • First and only DanceDanceRevolution arcade game to feature karaoke lyrics on-screen.
  • First mainline DanceDanceRevolution game to introduce charts with a difficulty level of 9 (on the classic 1-10 scale).
  • First DanceDanceRevolution game to have Double Maniac charts.
