General Information / Changes

  • Rating system expanded on, from 1-10 to 1-20.
  • New announcer replaces the one used in the series since DDRMAX.
  • First DDR arcade game to feature songs from the HOTTEST PARTY Wii games.
  • To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the DDR franchise, several old Dancemania licenses are revived with new charts and cuts. These are known as X-edits.
    • New Challenge-only charts named X-Specials are added for many old Konami original DDR songs.
  • First DDR arcade game since the series' beginning to not have NAOKI or jun as the sound director; instead, it's the late Jason Michael "Stillwind" Borenstein, best known for his work in the ULTRAMIX/UNIVERSE series.
  • The U.S./European arcade cabinets were redesigned, often regarded as the worst pads ever produced in the series.
