Profile
Shohei Uno, better known as RoughSketch, is a Japanese hardcore/gabber artist who started producing songs since 2004. He appears in almost every hardcore-based label, including HARDCORE TANO*C (who he is a member of) and X-Treme Hard. He's also very recognized in the overseas hardcore scene, where he has made appearances in various compilations.
Shohei's label is Notebook Records and is a member of the IOSYS doujin circle under his uno alias. He composes happy hardcore songs under the DJ Laugh alias and he is also the composer for Rinkai Mosquito (臨界モスキー党).
Shohei has become part of the beatnation Records label on April 10th, 2014, as L.E.D.'s choice, specifically under the RoughSketch alias.
Trivia
- Since the launch of beatmania IIDX 26 Rootage, Shohei became the only HARDCORE TANO*C member who has continued to write songs for BEMANI.
- According to Shohei, he learned of the existence of the gabber music genre from disable dA STACK, which began his music production career [1].
- Outside of BEMANI, Shohei contributes under multiple aliases:
- He has appeared as DJ Laugh in TAITO's GROOVE COASTER series.
- He has appeared as Nothing But Requiem in lowiro's Arcaea, Noxy Games' Lanota, and SEGA's maimai series.
- He has appeared as uno in BANDAI NAMCO's DEN-ON-BU media mix project, and GROOVE COASTER.
- Interestingly, Shohei scarcely appeared in the HARDCORE TANO*C produced WACCA, having no solo songs and one collaborative song.
