POLICY BREAK
The POLICY BREAK event is a collaboration that started in SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection- and the following other BEMANI titles: GITADORA, jubeat saucer, pop'n music Sunny Park, REFLEC BEAT colette, and Steel Chronicle VICTROOPERS (スティールクロニクル VICTROOPERS). beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL was added to the event on August 7th, 2015, while MÚSECA and BeatStream アニムトライヴ were added on April 1st, 2016 and April 28th, 2016, respectively. As new versions of these series were released, the event carried over to the newest titles.
In the POLICY BREAK event, a song from each BEMANI series (or Steel Chronicle) is crossed over to SOUND VOLTEX. The POLICY BREAK event requires the player to play eight rounds of the specified BEMANI game in order to unlock the BEMANI crossover in SOUND VOLTEX (or in the case of Steel Chronicle, a certain number of missions). Each event involves one song and generally lasts two weeks; after the allocated time period, the crossover cannot be unlocked anymore, until they are revived in the future.
Unlocking Method
In SOUND VOLTEX II -infinite infection-, players simply had to play either 8 rounds of the specified BEMANI games (24 TUNES for jubeat) or complete 10 missions in Steel Chronicle, then play a full game of SOUND VOLTEX to "bank" the gauge progress. The objective is to fill the song's gauge to 100%. If a song has been revived, the BREAK gauge increases for all songs of the same series.
From SOUND VOLTEX III GRAVITY WARS onwards, the "progress" is a definite resource and given a numerical value. The total BREAK POWER required to unlock a song is 24000Pw. The required number of plays is largely the same, but the BREAK POWER per game must now be used for one gauge at a time. This means that once a gauge is selected, all of the current BREAK POWER will be used up for that song.
A full play of the specified BEMANI game gives 3000Pw (12.5%, 8 plays), except for jubeat (1000Pw per TUNE played; 4.17%, 24 TUNES) and beatmania IIDX (4000Pw; 16.7%, 6 plays). Each Steel Chronicle mission completed gives 2400Pw (10%, 10 plays).

Trivia
- The POLICY BREAK event is the opposite of the FLOOR INFECTION event, where songs from the SOUND VOLTEX FLOOR contests get carried over to other BEMANI games.
- The event title "POLICY BREAK" refers to a supposed "policy" in the SOUND VOLTEX series where KONAMI original songs cannot be directly crossed over into it, as seen from the number of FLOOR remix contests previously. Hence, the event, starting with VALLIS-NERIA, nullified that.
- DanceDanceRevolution and ノスタルジア are currently the only active BEMANI series so far to not have a related POLICY BREAK event.
- With the discontinuation of BeatStream アニムトライヴ, 爆なな☆てすとロイヤー and アキネイション are currently impossible to obtain, making them the first two POLICY BREAK songs to have never been revived after their original distribution period.
- As of SOUND VOLTEX IV HEAVENLY HAVEN, POLICY BREAK events do not have the unique titles anymore.
