DanceDanceRevolution STRIKE
Release Information
- Release Date: November 18th, 2004
General Information / Changes
- Second "catch up" Japanese DanceDanceRevolution title. It contains some of the new licenses/covers from DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME2, as well of the new CS songs from EXTREME2 and the new KONAMI originals & BEMANI crossovers from DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2.
- Unlike in DDR FESTIVAL -DanceDanceRevolution-, though, none of the ULTRAMIX2 songs have new charts, nor are the DLC songs included.
- Interface is based on the same one from DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME2, and uses the same scoring system (the same one used in DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME CS US). Unlike in DDR FESTIVAL, the colors of the song titles aren't changed.
- Like in DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME2, almost all songs have their own unique background videos now, even beatmania IIDX songs that once had their own videos.
- The only songs that don't feature these kinds of videos are DoLL (which features its original beatmania IIDX video), iFUTURELIST (DDR VERSION) (which uses the original song's music video for its video), Let's Dance (which uses its original music video), and Polovtsian Dances And Chorus (which features footage from the Japan-only game ???).
- DoLL and iFUTURELIST (DDR VERSION) display each other's BPMs accidentally. This was corrected in later DanceDanceRevolution releases.
- Final Japanese DanceDanceRevolution title to feature backgrounds for songs upon starting them.
- Final Japanese DanceDanceRevolution title to advertise Dancemania albums in-game, as KONAMI would cut off of its collaboration with TOSHIBA-EMI slowly after this game's release.

Similar to DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME2, most of the game's songs have to be unlocked through ???. Unlike EXTREME2, though, the amount of songs required to play in there is much smaller.
You can also unlock songs through regular Game Mode by playing a certain amount of songs. Note that meeting the required number of songs does NOT unlock them immediately; you still have to buy them at the shop to play them.
DoLL is unlocked for immediate play if you have saved game data from beatmania IIDX 10th style CS. Knock Out Regrets is unlocked immediately if you have saved game data from pop'n music 12 いろは CS. Midnight Special is unlocked immediately if you have saved game data from GuitarFreaks & DrumMania V CS.
