General Information / Changes

• The game was announced on the 150th BEMANI Namahousou (kari) (BEMANI生放送（仮) on September 28th, 2016, exactly 18 years after the original pop'n music hit arcades.
• The Japanese title can be translated to "the rabbit and cat and boy's dream". The rabbit, cat, and boy could reference to Mimi, Nyami, and ナビくん (Navi-kun), respectively.
  • Due to its long title, it's also officially shortened as うさ猫 (UsaNeko).
  • The new character ナビくん voices the tutorials of the game.
• First mainline pop'n music game to have hold notes, named "Long pop-kun" (ロングポップ君).
  • The spin-off game pop'n music MICKEY TUNES previously featured hold notes, although they were named "Keep-kun" (キープくん).
• The respective character icon used in the character selection screen appears at the left of the song's title/genre during the song selection screen.
• GUIDE SE option is introduced, which works as an "assist tick", making a sound whenever the player hits a note.
  • On the location test, GUIDE SE is ON by default.
• Clear ranks return from the pop'n music 20 fantasia location test. Ranks go from S to E. Grade rankings are as follows:

  • AAA: 95,000-97,999
  • AA: 90,000-94,999
  • A: 82,000-89,999
  • B: 72,000-81,999
  • C: 62,000-71,999
  • D: 50,000-61,999
  • E: 49,999 and lower
• Songs can now be sorted by level and rank on the song selection screen, in addition to being sorted by genre or title.
• All KONAMI original/contest songs only have one set of Battle charts. Currently, only licenses have Battle HYPER charts.
• New combo number font introduced.
• All the hidden songs from pop'n music Sunny Park and pop'n music ラピストリア have been unlocked by default, except the FLOOR INFECTION ones
• All the hidden songs from pop'n music éclale are still hidden if not unlocked, except for 凛として咲く花の如く ～ひなビタ♪edition～ and the 日向美ちくわ姫決定戦 event songs. EX charts for éclale's default songs are unlocked by default.
• Character medals and lumina from pop'n music éclale were removed.
• First pop'n music arcade game where all the new songs' EX charts are available by default without having to unlock them.
• First pop'n music game since せんごく列伝 with no PON song in the default songlist.
• 2P palettes for new characters have to be unlocked by playing a round with the respective 1P palette of the character.
• Theme: steampunk.

BEMANI NEW FACE Contest (BEMANI NEW FACEコンテスト)

BEMANI NEW FACE Contest was a contest to give existing pop'n music characters new songs via submitting songs to this contest. The site can be found here. Contest submissions ran from March 30th, 2016 to May 9th, 2016. The first seven songs - and their winning artists - were announced on December 7th, 2016, and were added to the final version of pop'n music うさぎと猫と少年の夢 as default songs. The other 13 winners (and the characters their songs will represent) were announced on December 7th, 2016 as well, although their names and dates of addition are revealed gradually.

Navi-kun to OOPArts meguri no tabi (ナビくんとオーパーツ巡りの旅)

Event site.

Navi-kun to OOPArts meguri no tabi is the first unlock event of pop'n music うさぎと猫と少年の夢. It began on December 20th, 2016. After each credit, players can choose which OOPArt they want to collect from the map. Then, Navi-kun will travel to the respective zone of the map, and will look for treasure chests. Treasure chests may contain deco parts or songs. The success of finding a treasure chest depends of the songs played during the credit and the performance on them.

By default, the Dream-colored amber (夢色のコハク) is the first OOPArt available to every player. Unlocking 夢を絆ぐ亜麻色 is required in order to unlock other OOPArts.
