General Information

• First new BEMANI series with keysounds since the release of MAMBO A GO GO in 2001.
• Much like pop'n music games before ラピストリア, songs feature a short Music Comment, which can be seen on the music selection screen. Most of the licensed songs (from the Pops, Anime, and Variety genres) do not feature a Music Comment.
• BPM is not shown in-game.
• The ability to move the judgment line during gameplay was added on March 22nd, 2017.

Stage (ステージ) unlocks

Stage (ステージ) is ノスタルジア's main unlocking system. At the start of your credit, players have to choose a Stage. Each Stage have multiple Chapters, and in order to complete them, a certain number of Steps must be reached, symbolized as a staircase. Every time a song is played, Croit (the black cat) moves up Steps on the staircase (opening a Door to enter a Chapter also counts as one Step). Note that in the case that the player unlocks a new song, that song has to be played before entering another Chapter, otherwise the Steps gained since the last unlock will not count towards the next Chapter, similar to BEAST CRISIS in BeatStream アニムトライヴ or dig dig Qubell in jubeat Qubell (some Chapters require you to play other, already unlocked songs to unlock more Chapters as well).

The maximum number of Steps given by playing a song will depend on the difficulty played: 4 for Easy, 7 for Hard, and 10 for Expert, with 1 Step being the minimum (even when a song is failed). Number of Steps obtained can also vary with Brooches (ブローチ). Steps are accumulated between Chapters.

The number of Steps required for each new Chapter, after opening its respective Door, as well as the total accumulated Steps required, are the following:

• Chapter 1: I, 5 Steps (total: 6 Steps).
• Chapter 2: 変わりゆく時間とノスタルジアと, 10 Steps (total: 17 Steps).
• Chapter 3: 飽和世界, 15 Steps (total: 33 Steps).
• Chapter 4: nostos, 20 Steps (total: 54 Steps).
• Chapter 5: Noah's song, 25 Steps (total: 80 Steps).
• Chapter 6: Enigmatic Synchronization, 30 Steps (total: 111 Steps).
• Chapter 7: 夕焼け猫とブリキのロボット, 30 Steps (total: 142 Steps).
• Chapter 8: 愛、遠く, 30 Steps (total: 173 Steps).
• Chapter 9: flee for free!!, 30 Steps (total: 204 Steps).
• Chapter 10: PLEASURE STREAM, 30 Steps (total: 235 Steps).
• Chapter 11: PF flowing, 40 Steps (total: 276 Steps).
• Chapter 12: She Is On The Lemon Tree, 40 Steps (total: 317 Steps).
• Chapter 13: Surf on the Light, 60 Steps (total: 378 Steps).
• Chapter 14: Noah's song of collapse, 80 Steps (total: 459 Steps).
• Chapter 15: Pee-wee Boogie, 50 Steps (total: 510 Steps).
• Chapter 16: ユメイロムスビ, 50 Steps (total: 561 Steps).
