General Information / Changes

  • Only GuitarFreaks & DrumMania game since his debut that Hideyuki Ono did not work on during his tenure at KONAMI.
  • Final appearance of Handsome JET in the series, who died the following year.
  • HALF-DARK, 0.5x, and 20.0x modifiers are introduced.
  • HAZARD modifier was removed.
  • First game in the GuitarFreaks & DrumMania series to use a PC-based hardware (BEMANI PC), which is the same as the one used in pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE.
  • eAMUSEMENT support for GuitarFreaks V4 & DrumMania V4 Яock×Rock ended on July 31st, 2008.

Extra Rush Information

Extra/Encore Stage Requirements

  • Extra Stage: Obtain a net total of 2 points over a playthrough (1 for a 1 or 2 song set), where for a given song:
    • SS = 2 points, S = 1 point, A = 0 point, B = -1 points, C = -2 points, D = -3 points, E = -4 points.

When accessed, an Extra Stage-specific song may be played in addition to any song on the regular songlist.

  • Encore Stage: Obtain 95% Perfects in GuitarFreaks or 93% Perfects in DrumMania on an Extra Stage-specific song (marked in red on the songlist) without using any Auto modes. When accessed, the Encore Stage (and only the Encore Stage) will be made playable up to the highest difficulty level played on Extra Stage. At Extra Level 14, the required percentages drop to 92% and 90%.
  • Premium Encore Stage: Obtain 98% Perfects in GuitarFreaks or 96% Perfects in DrumMania on an Extra Stage-specific song (marked in red on the songlist) without using any Auto modes. When accessed, the Premium Encore Stage (and only the Premium Encore Stage) will be made playable up to the highest difficulty level played on Extra Stage. At Extra Level 14, the required percentages drop to 95% and 93%.

Unlockable Charts (Extra Level 3+)

When earning Extra Stage, in addition to the available Extra Stages on V4, Extra Stages from previous games will be highlighted in purple. These available Extra Stages depend on the game's currently Extra Level. Earning 95% PERFECTS on one of these Extra Stages with no Auto modifiers will allow the player to play a Special Stage, the Encore Stage for the respective game based on the selected Extra Stage. As with the standard Encore Stage, this stage may be played on any difficulty level up to the highest difficulty level completed on Extra Stage. If the stage is successfully completed, the player will earn new charts for older songs. The stage sequences and awarded charts are as follows:

Unlocking Extra Rush Stages

Before reaching a designated Extra Level, the Extra Rush Stages may be unlocked into Standard play by obtaining a specific percentage of Perfects on the song. However, at Extra Level 14, the player only have to clear the song instead. These percentages are listed below:
