Release Information
- Platform: PC
- First alpha test: May 14th, 2020 to August 24th, 2021
- Second alpha test: August 24th, 2021 to September 6th, 2021
General Information / Changes
- Not counting ports, this is the tenth DanceDanceRevolution title simply named "DanceDanceRevolution".
- First DanceDanceRevolution game for PC since DanceDanceRevolution Classroom Edition, and the first to be released in Japan since Dancing Karaoke DKara.
- Interface based on DanceDanceRevolution A20 PLUS blue version.
- During the first alpha test, the game was known as DanceDanceRevolution V (the "V" standing for "Vic"), and was significantly different.
- The game was designed to be run in a web browser rather than as a standalone PC application similar to other CS PC BEMANI releases.
- The game used a newly made interface not based on any arcade version.
- No options menu was present, the game was forced to 1x speed, VIVID noteskin, etc.
- The AA grade was missing, instead a AAA was awarded even at scores below 950,000. However, the rest of the grading system was kept from the current arcade titles.
- Characters no longer paused to a stop in the song's BPM.
- Characters started/stopped dancing when the song properly began/ended instead of continually dancing throughout the stage before the song starts or after the song ends.
- The original announcer from the first DanceDanceRevolution games was used for the title screen, while the current announcer was used for the rest of the game.
- The characters now use the dance routines from DanceDanceRevolution X as opposed to the SuperNOVA-era routines, although the routine used is now dependent on either the starting or current BPMs of the song.
- A new dance mat can be ordered for the game, as shown here.
