  • Generic videos now refer to the game as "beatmania IIDX" instead of "beatmania II".
  • First appearance of EASY mode.
  • First style with a time bar below your percent gauge, showing how far in the song you are.
  • beatmania IIDX 4th style's songlist contains several beatmania GOTTAMIX 2 and beatmania III crossovers. These were added to advertise the recent releases of these games.
    • It's also the first beatmania IIDX game with Dance ManiaX and pop'n music crossovers.
  • All the new licenses from beatmania IIDX 3rd style have been removed except S.O.S. (THE TIGER TOOK MY FAMILY). All remaining 2nd style licenses except for Brazilian Rhyme and 踊る!福神漬 (CALCUTTA) have also been removed.
