Unlock Information
ARCADE unlocks
Hidden songs can also be played early in ORIGINAL by meeting certain requirements in ARCADE as you play.
- CUTE: clear Beginner Mode. It will appear on STAGE 1 after.
- NEW FOLK: play as any new CS character and clear NEW WAVE on STAGE 1. It will appear on STAGE 2.
- SEXY GIRLS: play URBAN POP in STAGE 1, and then DISCO QUEEN or EURO QUEEN on STAGE 2. It will appear on FINAL STAGE.
- J-R&B: get a triple 7, triple 5, or triple 3 on the last column of your result screen or either STAGE 1 or 2 (i.e. 203 GREATs, 33 GOODs, and 3 BADs would qualify). It will appear on FINAL STAGE.
- LOUNGE: clear NEO ACO on STAGE 1 with 80% or more greats, or get 85% or more GREATs on STAGE 1 and 2. It will appear on FINAL STAGE.
- To unlock J-GARAGE POP, select Rave girl as your character and clear any song as your first stage with 85% or more greats, then clear RAVE as your second stage with 85% or more greats. It will then appear on FINAL STAGE.
- AKIBA: clear the Beginner Course in Marathon Mode. It will appear on STAGE 1 after.
- LIVE: clear the Half Course in Marathon Mode. It will appear on STAGE 2 after.
- AVANTGARDE: clear the Full Course on Marathon Mode. It will appear on FINAL STAGE after.
Button Commands
You can also temporarily unlock J-R&B and LOUNGE in Arcade Mode by entering the following codes at the title screen. Played songs will not be saved. The numbers correspond to the pop'n music controller from left to right.
- J-R&B:
- On a pop'n controller: 8, 6, 4, 7, 9, 6, 4, 1. Afterwards, hold down 2 as you press Start for ARCADE.
- On a PlayStation controller: R1 ← △ △ R2 ↑ △ L2. Afterwards, press Select and L1 as you enter ARCADE.
- On a Dreamcast controller: B Y Y ↓ R Y ↑ L. Afterwards, press the Start button while pressing ← as you enter ARCADE.
- LOUNGE:
- On a pop'n controller: 2, 4, 2, 4, 2, 4, 2, 6. Then press the Start button as you enter ARCADE.
- On a PlayStation controller: L1 ↑ L1 ↑ L1 ↑ L1 △ ↑. Then press the Start button as you enter ARCADE.
- On a Dreamcast controller: ↑ ← ↑ ← ↑ ← ↑ ← Y. Then press the Start button as you enter ARCADE.
HYPER charts
To play HYPER charts, clear every song in ARCADE modes except LIVE, AKIBA, and AVANTGARDE and then press SELECT on any song with a HYPER chart (as noted above). This will not work in Beginner Mode.
