  • Subtitle: THE PRIMARY VIVID IIDX
  • DVD-based hardware replaced the previously used VCD-based setup for background movies.
  • The new font for a note combo is first used in this game up to 8th style, replacing the font previously used since the series' beginning.
  • First style to feature grades after song completion, ranging from AAA to F.
  • First appearance of HARD mode.
  • sync had its own unique video now.
  • Both existing Lion Musashi songs are now 150 BPM.
  • Total number of songs: 123
