General Information / Changes

  • Only PlayStation 2 pop'n music game with preview songs for the next arcade installment.
  • First pop'n music game with ee'MALL transplants.
  • First CS pop'n music that allows you use to play as almost all the characters, not just the ones new to the game and unlockable songs from the previous CS game.
  • First CS pop'n music to not have all the hidden songs from the previous CS game carried over to the next.
  • First CS pop'n music to also not bring over all of the CS crossovers from its corresponding arcade counterpart back over to its CS release.
  • First CS pop'n music to contain HI-SPEED X6.
  • Only CS pop'n music title to contain HI-SPEED X8.
  • Last CS pop'n music in which you must play songs in Arcade mode to play them in FREE MODE (by default, only MISSA is playable), as well as individually unlock all EX charts as well. All subsequent games have the default song list available from the get-go in FREE MODE and, once the unlocking system is done, all the charts as well.
  • Difficulty levels for songs are based on pop'n music 10, not the arcade version of pop'n music 9.
  • Total songs: 111 (a then pop'n game record)

Unlocking Information

For those who do not wish to go for the unlock system, you can turn it off and unlock songs over time. Only time in ARCADE MODE playing songs counts towards time.

  • 4 hours: Hi-SPEEDX6/8, STAGE POP, CHARA POP, S-RANDOM
  • 4.5 hours: Older AC songs
  • 5 hours: Hidden AC and CS songs
  • 5.5 hours: Hidden LONG versions
  • 6 hours: Hidden REMIXs
  • 6.5 hours: Hidden EXPERT courses
  • 7.5 hours: ee'MALL songs
  • 8 hours: pop'n msic 10 preview songs
  • 8.5 hours: ANIME/TV characters
  • 9 hours: Hidden charts
  • MARATHON MODE is unlocked once everything else in the game is unlocked.

Codes

You can also temporarily unlock the above at the title screen, which must be re-entered every time you play ARCADE or FREE. Unlike most pop'n music games, songs played in any ARCADE mode with these codes on WILL save in FREE and TRAINING (though only the chart of that song will sometimes). The buttons correspond to the buttons on the pop'n music Controller from left to right.
