General Information / Changes

  • First appearance of what would become Flashing 7's, labeled with a kanji meaning "Forbidden".
  • First appearance of auto-scratch.
  • First appearance of multiple hi-speed settings in the arcade (HS1 through HS3).
  • First beatmania IIDX game to differentiate new and old songs prior to starting a song. New songs have white backgrounds, while the genre, song name, and artist name are in black text. Old songs have black backgrounds and white text. This remained the standard in beatmania IIDX 5th style until beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro.
  • Last IIDX game to display vinyl records on music select.
  • Total number of songs: 115
