General Information / Changes

• Slogan: 丗(30)奏。主役の血統(レジデントDJ)は、進化を止めない。(Sanjuusou. RESIDENT DJ wa, shinka wo tomenai.)
• Theme: Nightclubs and DJs
  • Both themes reference the "RESIDENT" subtitle, which is derived from the term Resident DJ, as well as commemorating the 30th installment of the beatmania IIDX series.
  • The interface also has a sub-theme of genetic analysis, with references to DNA and RNA, as well as a double-helix shape on the chart difficulty meters.
• First beatmania IIDX game to run at Full HD (FHD) 1080p.
  • The Definition Type was added back on the title screen, displayed as either HD or FHD.
  • During the location tests, the background video was not expanded when playing without a SCORE TARGET or second player, due to the increased screen resolution.
  • However, several camera functionalities for older cabinets were temporarily restricted on October 18th, 2022 due to stability issues. [1]
  • On older cabinets, all menu selection (except gameplay) runs at 30 FPS.
• FAST/SLOW now has an option to display separately for keys and scratches.
  • FAST/SLOW colors can now be inverted.
• Clear lamps/DJ Levels for each folder now have a bar graph breakdown on the right side of the screen. They can be enabled or disabled by pressing [4] on the keypad.
  • The QR code functionality, which was the previous function for [4], was removed.
• NOTES RADAR has several additions:
  • A NOTES RADAR recommendation folder has been added.
  • You can check the values of each parameter for each score up to two decimal places.
  • A top 10 ranking of songs in each note parameter has been added.
• PREMIUM FREE mode can now be played on non-Japanese cabinets, including those lacking PASELI support, with only the option to play for 10-minutes, at a cost of two or four [2] credits per session. [3]
  • V-Discs are given on coin-based PREMIUM FREE credits, similar to the V-Disc daily bonus perk from previous styles.
• SCORE TARGET now follows the pacing along with the player.
• Badges replace most of the TRAN Medals for the achievement system. Players can choose up to five badges to display in the profile.
  • However, STEP UP mode achievements still use TRAN Medals.
  • Q-pro characters also appear on the profile login/logout screen as well.
• Playlist feature has been removed. In its place are ten customizable folders, with each one holding up to ten song slots each.
• The number of rivals a player can have has been increased to six, up from five.
• First game since CANNON BALLERS with no kanji on the mode select screen, and the first game since SINOBUZ not to use the traditional number meter display during the song select screen (this was present in the location test, however).
• In-game currency is called VIBES.
• System voices are provided by Ameto (voiced by Yukari Tamura) and Shi-low (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa).
  • Similar to CastHour, these system voices are only present in the Japanese version of the game.
• The beatmania IIDX DJs appear on the song select screen. Currently the game randomly selects between Shilow and Ameto as the character used each time you start the game.
  • During the location test, staff mentioned that characters could be changed using in game currency (VIBES), but this has yet to be implemented.
• All daily bonuses, with the exception of Saturday's (no level restrictions in STEP UP), have been removed, and with them day-exclusive modes TIME FREE, TIME FREE PLUS, TIME HAZARD, and TIME HELL.
  • LEGGENDARIA charts now cost one V-Disc to access to accommodate the removal.
• All remaining unlocks from HEROIC VERSE, all non-BEMANI event unlocks from BISTROVER, and the six launch hidden LEGGENDARIA charts from CastHour are all unlocked by default.
  • The two beatmania IIDX 20th Anniversary Tribute BEST and X-record event songs from BISTROVER are playable outside LIGHTNING MODEL cabinets.
  • BLACK or WHITE? and ディスコルディア are still locked if they were not unlocked during the latter event, though.
  • From November 21st, 2022, RESIDENT can now be linked with beatmania IIDX ULTIMATE MOBILE, allowing players to obtain Fire Beat, OTOKOZAKA, and SPARK IN THE NIGHT if they did not obtain them in previous titles.
• RESIDENT's location test marks the first one since PENDUAL without a Xceon song.
• First beatmania IIDX game since PENDUAL not to have a lapix song on the default song list.
• First beatmania IIDX game since their debuts in CANNON BALLERS and Rootage respectively where SYUNN and AJURIKA do not appear on the default song list.
• Kiwami Dan / CLASS mode was added on January 12th, 2023.

RESIDENT PARTY

RESIDENT PARTY is beatmania IIDX 30 RESIDENT's main unlocking event. It started on December 8th, 2022. e-amusement is required to access this event, and it will appear with one player only.

RESIDENT PARTY works similar to CastHour SPACE. You are given a list of genres to choose from, and a gauge which is filled by playing songs. Additional boosts can be obtained by playing songs which fall on one of the five given descriptions: songs, artists, genres, NOTES RADAR proficiency, and BPM range. A Recommended format (イチオシ構成) changes every credit; playing songs with Rival Bonus tags, using a VIP PASS BLACK, as well as equipping certain BADGES, will increase the gauge more. Awarded bonuses are indicated as SUCCESS! during the results screen at the end of each playthrough. When playing on PREMIUM FREE mode, an upper cap of progress earned on each credit is imposed depending on the level of BADGE the player equipped, which can be increased by playing a set number of songs (10, 20, 30, 50 and 70) from any of the skill radar RECOMMEND folders.

Like CastHour SPACE, VIBES and V-DISCs, as well as charts of the song in question are unlocked upon reaching certain thresholds in the gauge. Charts are unlocked in order of difficulty; ANOTHER charts will always be the final reward for every song.

WORLD TOURISM

The WORLD TOURISM unlock system, first introduced in beatmania IIDX 28 BISTROVER, returned November 10th, 2022.

Folders are added to the selection in one player Standard Mode (playable on any stage) and Premium Free. Playing a song from any folder will bring up a board with ten spaces between START and GOAL. Five spaces are awarded for playing a song (clear or fail does not matter), and an extra space is awarded for fulfilling each of the following conditions:

• DJ LEVEL AA or HARD CLEAR (or better)
• PREMIUM START (Japan only)
• LIGHTNING MODEL play

Once the Q-Pro reaches the GOAL, a bonus is awarded, and the remaining spaces will carry over to the next board in the folder. If on the last board, the remaining spaces are lost. A new feature now displays how many spaces remain until reaching the end goal of the folder.

The following rewards are awarded for each goal, in order:

1. 3000 VIBES
2. 20 V-Discs
3. 6000 VIBES
4. 40 V-Discs
5. Unlockable song

After playing a song from a WORLD TOURISM folder, the folders will disappear for the rest of the credit. Once the song has been unlocked from a folder, it will disappear from the selection entirely.

WEEKLY RANKING

Event page.

The WEEKLY RANKING feature was added to beatmania IIDX 30 RESIDENT on November 16th, 2022. The WEEKLY RANKING song changes every Wednesday at 12:00 noon.

You earn a star (the day after the period for a song ends) if your score in the leaderboards for the featured song's chart is high enough. Note that stars depend on each song's chart on both Single and Double Play, not on the whole song itself, which means you can earn up to six stars per song.

In the song list menu, a bar shows your WEEKLY RANKING star progress on the featured song's chart; the arrow determines your current position in the leaderboards:

• White star: if the arrow is located in the white section.
• Bronze star: if the arrow is located in the cyan section.
• Silver star: if the arrow is located in the gray section.
• Gold star: if the arrow is located in the yellow section.
• Platinum star: if the arrow is located in the very small blue section (top 10 in the leaderboards).
