General Information

  • Release Date: August 30, 2007
  • Features three collaboration songs by dj TAKA vs DJ YOSHITAKA, Ryu vs. SOTA and L.E.D. vs kors k. This is also the only Japanese style which features the 5-key songs from the original beatmania with new 7-key charts for all three difficulties.
  • Revamped Options Menu to replace the one from CS RED and CS Happy Sky.
  • Newly designed Free Mode options set-up screen, which has been using the same design ever since CS 3rd style.
  • First CS style to implement the Regul-Speed feature in GOLD, however, this feature is only be available in Training Mode.
  • Introduces new speed adjustments that are directly linked to the songs are also a new feature in Training Mode.

Unlock Information

Cardinal Gate

To access the CARDINAL GATE folder in Standard Mode, use the methods below, and on your last stage, you can get to CARDINAL GATE using a simple formula:

On your Final Stage, clear the stage and succeed in doing one of the following:
-On a Level 5/6 song, clear the song and Full Combo it
-On a Level 7 song, clear the song and have 100% on the Groove Gauge
-On a Level 8 song, just clear the song.
You can use three different methods to unlock different difficulty modes:


To Unlock CARDINAL GATE and all 4 songs with their NORMAL difficulties:
-Pass your first two songs and get a DJ LEVEL of B or higher.
-On your final song, get a DJ LEVEL A or higher, and follow the Extra Stage criteria.
-HARD is not required, and you are permitted to use EASY. RANDOM/AUTO-SCRATCH/5KEY is not allowed.


To unlock CARDINAL GATE and all 4 songs with their NORMAL and HYPER difficulty modes:
-Pass your first two songs and get a DJ LEVEL of A or higher.
-On your final song, get a DJ LEVEL AA or above on a Level 7 (on Single Mode) or higher, or a Level 6 (on Double Mode) or higher, and follow the Extra Stage criteria.
-HARD is not required. EASY/RANDOM/AUTO-SCRATCH/5KEY are not allowed.
-All songs must be on HYPER or ANOTHER.


To unlock CARDINAL GATE and all 4 songs with all of their difficulty modes:

-On your final song, get a DJ LEVEL A or above ona Level 10 (on Single Mode) or higher, or a Level 9 (on Double Mode) or higher, and follow the Extra Stage criteria.

-All songs must be on HYPER or ANOTHER.

To obtain the One More Extra Stage, first obtain marks for all four Cardinal Gate songs. To obtain a mark for a song, Hard Clear that song in Cardinal Gate mode on ANOTHER and earn at least an A. Once you have earned all four marks, the next time that you Hard Clear a song in Cardinal Gate mode on ANOTHER with an A, you will earn the One More Extra Stage.

Hidden Songs

  • To unlock CALDERA, play it in the "beatmania" backside expert course.
  • To unlock DRUNK MONKY, play any three beatmania songs for 1st-3rd stages in Standard Mode. Provided that you satisfy the requirements for a fourth song (clear an 8, 100% a 7, etc.), it will show up on your extra stage.
  • To unlock Hybrid Landscape, play one round of Standard, Expert, or Dan modes.
  • To unlock Infinite cave, play three rounds of Standard, Expert, or Dan modes.
  • To unlock QUANTUM TELEPORTATION, play five rounds of Standard, Expert, or Dan modes.
  • To unlock The Hope of Tomorrow (OST cut), play it in the "Sota Fujimori" backside expert course, or in DP 10-dan.
  • To unlock Back Into The Light (OST cut), play it in the "Sota Fujimori" backside expert course.

Note also that for pictures #1-14, there exists both monochrome and color versions of each picture like those of 10th style. When you first obtain each picture, you will receive the monochrome version. On subsequent times that you receive the picture, there is a 1/4 chance that you will receive the color version instead. You can switch between the color and monochrome versions if you have obtained them both in the Gallery Collection by pressing the Start button.
