General Information / Changes

• First time in beatmania IIDX that two consecutive styles with unique names to have everything but the first letter of the style's name in lower-case letters.
• First beatmania IIDX game to preview songs when hovering to the songs in the song selection screen, similar to DanceDanceRevolution and pop'n music.
• Several songs received their BEGINNER charts from CS or older arcade releases.
• This is the first arcade beatmania IIDX game since DJ Yoshitaka's debut in beatmania IIDX 11 IIDX RED in which none of his songs appear on the default songlist.
  • Also the first beatmania IIDX game since beatmania IIDX substream with no good-cool on the songlist.
• First beatmania IIDX game since his return to writing arcade songs in beatmania IIDX 13 DistorteD where Toshiyuki Kakuta has no new songs under his L.E.D. alias on the default songlist.
• Lincle and jubeat copious were released the same day in Japan (September 15th, 2011), marking the first time in 9 years two BEMANI titles are released on the same day. (The last time occurred with DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution 7thMIX- and beatmania IIDX 7th style in March 2002.)
• The soundtrack was released at the same day as REFLEC BEAT limelight's (February 29th, 2012), one of the few times where OSTs of two BEMANI games were simultaneously released, and the first time a beatmania IIDX OST has been released with another BEMANI game.
• First beatmania IIDX game to not feature local high score tables for Standard Mode or Expert courses.
• First beatmania IIDX game to not have a credits sequence or theme.
• Total number of songs: 691

New Features

• STEP UP MODE. The player starts off with a small pool of songs, and must clear a set number of songs to advance to the next "month" and unlock more songs. The player is guaranteed three stages, regardless of whether the first two are cleared.
• FREE PLUS MODE. It is made available when two players are present, and grants three stages instead of FREE MODE's two.
• SUDDEN+ TYPE B option. It is similar to SUDDEN+ option, but as the Hi-Speed setting is changed in-game, the lane's height will change automatically.
• EX HARD option. Similar to HARD option, but 1 MISS will decrease the groove gauge by 18%. Appears as a yellow groove gauge.
  • HAZARD mode then features a yellow gauge as well.
• HELP DISPLAY. Holding down VEFX button will display help on Mode Select and Music Select screens.

Boss Songs

When playing Standard Mode, by fulfilling the conditions below within a 4-song playset, fragment pieces can be obtained. When enough fragments have been collected, the boss song will be available as the 5th stage. If beaten, the song will be unlocked for normal play.
Each of the Lincle Kingdom bosses are based off one of the seven deadly sins, the seven circles of Hell, and guardians in Hell.

[7/19/2012 update] Fragment pieces can now be obtained by simply playing the extra stage. (Extra stage can be failed.)

• The Sampling Paradise / Mamonis (Greed)
  • Choose all songs from same style folder. Each folder will be counted once only.
• Scharfrichter / Ashemu (Lust)
  • Choose songs that have the EXACT same genre (i.e. Drum'N'Bass and Drum & Bass do not work).
• In the Blackest Den / Bulluvegola (Sloth)
  • Choose songs that all have the EXACT same artist (i.e. L.E.D. and L.E.D.-G will not work).
• 聖人の塔 / Beridzebeth (Gluttony)
  • Earn a "feather" on each of the previous boss songs. The difficulty available for this song is dependent on which difficulty you have a feather on for the previous bosses (ie: If you have a feather on the Normal charts for Mamonis, Ashemu, and Bulluvegola but no feathers for the Hyper or Another charts, only the Normal chart is playable).

To obtain a feather, you must meet the following requirements:

• Normal: EX Hard Clear with at least an A
• Hyper: EX Hard Clear with at least a AA
• Another: EX Hard Clear with a AAA

If the player has obtained 1 companion, each song may be cleared with either Hard or EX-Hard Gauge. If the player has obtained 2 companions, no Hard Gauge is required on each song. In addition, if an amulet is obtained from the Lincle Shop and equipped, the grade requirement for each difficulty tier is lowered by one grade.

If you fail Beridzebeth, the song will be locked and you must obtain feathers from the previous boss songs again.

• Todestrieb / Rche (Pride)
  • Choose songs that all have the same number of letters. Each number will be counted once only. [See Remarks]
• NNRT / Levaslater (Envy)
  • Choose songs with notecounts in the same range by hundreds (i.e. 100-199, 200-299). Each range of hundreds will only counted once.
• The Limbo / STN (Wrath)
  • Choose any song on the first stage, and for the succeeding stages choose songs that begin with the last letter of the previous song, but for the final stage, choose the song that ends with the first letter of the first stage, forming a loop. Each starting letter will be counted once only. [See Remarks]
    • Eg. Elisha→Aegis→sync→Colorful Cookie forms a loop with "E" as the starting letter. Any loops in the future starting with the letter "E" will not work.
      
    • However, by changing the sequence above, i.e. Aegis→sync→Colorful Cookie→Elisha, it forms a loop with "A" as the starting letter, and will be counted if you have not used "A" before.
• YAKSHA / Neulakyussra (Judgement)
  • Obtain Rche, Levaslater, and STN.
• 天空の夜明け / Cuvelia (Rebirth) - The Last Guardian (One More Extra Stage)
  • Obtain all other 8 Lincle Kingdom boss songs.

Remarks: The names of the songs played (for unlocking Todestrieb and The Limbo) are according to the names displayed on the L.E.D. display board (under the game monitor). The number of letters (for Todestrieb) includes spaces, punctuation marks and numerals.
