** Also the first DanceDanceRevolution game with Double BEGINNER charts.
* DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2 starts a collaboration with the music label A Different Drum, who would continue to provide licenses and original compositions for the rest of the Xbox / Xbox 360 titles.
** However, nearly all BEGINNER charts in the game are merely automatically generated charts which use the songs' respective LIGHT charts as a base; the only exceptions are the DLC songs La Senorita and Silent Hill, which have proper Double BEGINNER data, and era nostalmix, which has proper data for both. Starting from DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX3, most new songs would receive proper BEGINNER charts, though some returning ones would never get them.
* DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2 starts a collaboration with the music label A Different Drum, who would continue to provide licenses and original compositions for every Xbox / Xbox 360 title up to DanceDanceRevolution UNIVERSE3.
** The collaboration was also featured in DanceDanceRevolution X.
** The collaboration was also featured in DanceDanceRevolution X.
* The official DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2 site mislabels the ESRB rating for this game as "T" for Teen. It's actually rated "E" for Everyone.
* First Xbox DanceDanceRevolution title to feature Dancemania licenses.
* Unlike ULTRAMIX, ULTRAMIX2's new song packs also contain brand-new KONAMI originals and licenses, as opposed to just new BEMANI crossovers.
* Curiously, ULTRAMIX2's official website, along with several final release copies of the game, says the game is rated a T (13+) rating by the ESRB, instead of the game's official E rating.
* Unlike ULTRAMIX, ULTRAMIX2's new song packs also contain brand-new KONAMI originals and licenses.
* Song coloration on the music select has changed from ULTRAMIX:
** White for default songs.
** Yellow for unlocked songs.
** Green for previous DLC song packs from ULTRAMIX.
** Pink for new DLC song packs.
* Total songs: 70 (plus 30 new DLC songs and 30 from ULTRAMIX)

DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2

Release Information

  • Platform: Xbox
  • Release Dates: November 18th, 2004

General Information / Changes

  • Released the same day as DDR FESTIVAL -DanceDanceRevolution-.
    • The menu music from this game is shared with DDR FESTIVAL -DanceDanceRevolution-.
  • Brand-new interface replaces the one from ULTRAMIX. Differences include:
    • Songs being listed on the far right side coming up as you scroll left to right. Ten songs are listed at a time in rectangular boxes, with your grades for a song are listed in these boxes as well from top to bottom: LIGHT, STANDARD, and then HEAVY.
    • Banners are now to the immediate left of the GROOVE RADAR, itself on the far left of the screen. BPM of a song is listed underneath it, followed by foot difficulty levels. On the bottom left lists difficulty levels, which are toggled with just a single up/down press.
  • Similar to ULTRAMIX, the default song sort consists of a small set of licenses in alphabetical order, followed by the remaining songs ordered roughly by their STANDARD difficulties.
    • However, unlike its predecessor, ULTRAMIX2 contains more licenses than those in the first group, which are mixed in with the KONAMI originals.
  • New, high-resolution generic clips replaced the original clips from the DanceDanceRevolution arcades games used in ULTRAMIX.
  • First ULTRAMIX title with BEGINNER charts.
    • Also the first DanceDanceRevolution game with Double BEGINNER charts.
    • However, nearly all BEGINNER charts in the game are merely automatically generated charts which use the songs' respective LIGHT charts as a base; the only exceptions are the DLC songs La Senorita and Silent Hill, which have proper Double BEGINNER data, and era nostalmix, which has proper data for both. Starting from DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX3, most new songs would receive proper BEGINNER charts, though some returning ones would never get them.
  • DanceDanceRevolution ULTRAMIX2 starts a collaboration with the music label A Different Drum, who would continue to provide licenses and original compositions for every Xbox / Xbox 360 title up to DanceDanceRevolution UNIVERSE3.
  • First Xbox DanceDanceRevolution title to feature Dancemania licenses.
  • Curiously, ULTRAMIX2's official website, along with several final release copies of the game, says the game is rated a T (13+) rating by the ESRB, instead of the game's official E rating.
  • Unlike ULTRAMIX, ULTRAMIX2's new song packs also contain brand-new KONAMI originals and licenses.
  • Song coloration on the music select has changed from ULTRAMIX:
    • White for default songs.
    • Yellow for unlocked songs.
    • Green for previous DLC song packs from ULTRAMIX.
    • Pink for new DLC song packs.
  • Total songs: 70 (plus 30 new DLC songs and 30 from ULTRAMIX)
