= CLUB MODE =
Exclusive to DanceDanceRevolution (PS3) is a new mode called CLUB MODE, which is the game's only way to unlock new songs. Here, you dance across four to 20 songs, all determined for you. You start off playing in BEGINNER mode, but as you progress more and more and get more PERFECTS, you can play higher difficulty levels. You'll also have TRICKS thrown at you while playing, such as increased speed, arrow options, and even a life bar. Do note that getting too many misses will result in you being knocked down a difficulty level. You also have to pay attention to your gauge - if it goes down to zero at any point, you automatically lose. (Though you will keep any points you earned.)

The purpose of this mode is to add to your DANCE SKILL bar. Each time it fills up a single whole column, you unlock a new song. The longer in the mode you go, the more points you earn while playing. Each song also has its own SONG STATUS - raising this to a certain amount will allow you to play a song freely in your own CLUB, as well as unlock stats about a song (such as its frequency played, or its combo/jump/freeze amount). Do note, though, that increasing a song's SONG STATUS ''also'' raises its TRICK Level, which makes the song more difficult to play.

  • Songs only have Single charts.
  • Each note of a jump is judged individually; jumps count as two notes for combo purposes once again.
    • Also the only DanceDanceRevolution title where OK's on Freeze Arrows add to your combo.
  • GROOVE RADAR is gone.
  • Difficulty scale is 1-10, instead of the standardized 1-20 introduced two years earlier in DanceDanceRevolution X. However, several charts were re-rated.
    • It also uses a right side song wheel, though jackets are still used instead of banners for songs.
  • CHALLENGE charts for songs are playable, but must be unlocked by clearing a song's EXPERT chart first.
    • Most of the CHALLENGE charts use the game's new Octo-Mode, which uses eight different steps (top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right) to play a song.
  • A new game mechanic, GROOVE TRIGGER, is introduced. Turning this on when your dance gauge is full allows you to get extra points. However, it also cuts your gauge in half once activated.
  • EDIT mode is not in the game.
  • Video plays of songs can be exported to the console's hard drive in the PlayStation 3 version. Only KONAMI originals can be recorded, though.
  • Total songs: 50, plus 30 DLC songs (not including Full Version songs)

CLUB MODE

The longer in the mode you go, the more points you'll earn while playing. Each song also has its own SONG STATUS. Raising this to a certain amount will allow you to play a song freely in your own CLUB, as well as unlock stats about a song (such as its frequency played, or its combo/jump/freeze amount). However, increasing a song's SONG STATUS also raises its TRICK Level, which makes the song more difficult to play.

The Premium Pack songs can also be played in CLUB MODE, and count as one song.

Songs are unlocked in the following order:

Trivia

  • DanceDanceRevolution (PS3) was heavily advertised at the KONAMI Penthouse, a virtual space on the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Home, where users could play on a dance-off minigame.
  • Three music boxes called DanceDanceRevolution 3D Book were released as crane game prizes in Japan to promote the upcoming release of DanceDanceRevolution New Moves before its cancellation. The music boxes had original versions of Bad Romance, Celebration, and Hey, Soul Sister.
