General Information / Changes

• Theme: Channels. [1]
  • The letters C and H that were colored orange in the logo also represents CH, an abbreviation for channel.
  • Befitting the theme, the menu screens feature many generic videos (from SIRIUS up until BISTROVER, except for event-based and battle generic videos, such as PARALLEL ROTATION and Lincle Kingdom) that play/cycle every few seconds.
• Slogan: 流れる音で、時に乗れ(ストリーム ライディング)。 (STREAM RIDING.)
  • Another slogan tag, "This brand-new hour lets you cast and share your beat! Have a GREAT "CastHour" !!", is written in the logo. This marks the first time where a tag other than "The ultimate system beatmania deluxe version" is written in the logo.
• New scratch type introduced; Multi Spin Scratch (MSS). It is a variant of Backspin Scratch, but you must hit the scratch a certain amount of times in the same scratch and turn on the other direction after each scratch. Each scratch counts as a note.
  • A Multi Spin Scratch has a cyan-colored mark on the note to differentiate Backspin Scratch. Also, only scratches that has been spun will be highlighted.
  • An indicator similar to the previous CN/HCN marker next to the song will show which songs have Multi Spin Scratch.
  • A small demonstration of the Multi Spin Scratch will also be displayed before the song starts.
  • If LEGACY is used, the start of each section of a Multi Spin Scratch note will be converted into regular scratch notes.
• Icons for CHARGE NOTES are no longer displayed for songs on music select. Only the NOTES RADAR shows if a song has them or not now, and whether if the CHARGE NOTES are regular ones or HELL (if said label is present).
  • NOTES RADAR will dim any aspects if the parameter has no value.
• Adjustments for in-game FAST/SLOW settings, as well as an AUTO ADJUST option, have been added. This option can be turned on or off at music select or during gameplay.
  • Pressing 3 adjusts FAST, 9 SLOW, and 0 turns on AUTO ADJUST.
  • JUDGE now displays FAST/SLOW notes as well during gameplay.
• Random lane gacha (ランダムレーンガチャ) tickets introduced exclusively for LIGHTNING MODEL cabinets and can be purchased with either a free coupon (for every 10 purchases) or PASELI. When used, ten specific RANDOM patterns are produced and can either be selected at any time or preset a customised pattern.
  • This feature is only available on Japanese cabinets, and cannot be used on Dan/Class, ARENA, or BPL BATTLE mode.
  • Up to 9,999 patterns can be stored at any time, and are valid for 180 days.
• My Activity now includes IIDX Tower, a cumulative stacked graph which displays the cumulative total number of keys hit and turntable scratches within the past ten days of activity.
  • Single and Double play are combined together.
• All hidden non-BEMANI wide event unlocks from beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE are now playable by default.
  • The five non-ARENA hidden LEGGENDARIA charts from BISTROVER, CONNECT-, Tell me what you wish feat.らっぷびと, X-ray binary, and 世界の果てに約束の凱歌を -ReUnion- are also now playable by default.
  • The LIGHTNING MODEL cabinet exclusive songs from HEROIC VERSE are playable in the base version by default.
  • apo:llioth is now available by default in the LIGHTNING MODEL cabinet.
  • From October 28th, 2021, CastHour can now be linked with beatmania IIDX ULTIMATE MOBILE, allowing players to obtain Fire Beat and OTOKOZAKA if they did not obtain them in BISTROVER.
• beatmania IIDX 29 CastHour's launch song list marks several notable artist omissions in the beatmania IIDX series:
  • It's the first game since 8th style where Ryu☆ doesn't appear in any songs, license or original, on the default song list.
  • It's the first game in the series since his debut in 8th style in which Tetsuya Tamura doesn't appear in the game's default song list.
  • It's the first game since PENDUAL with no Dirty Androids song playable by default.
  • It's the first game since copula in which Nanahira doesn't sing in a song with Camellia on the default song list.
  • It's the first game since Maozon's debut in copula with no song from him on the default song list.
• A hit chart can now be viewed on the Premium Area on LIGHTNING MODEL cabinets, showing which songs are currently the most popular.
• Rival data and personal bests now show what mods were used under their score graphs.
• Video aspect ratio for songs when playing on Double have been fixed and now display in 4:3, like they do on Single.
  • Pre-tricoro songs with overlays now have grey bars at the sides when playing on Double.
• The SD image resolution is no longer compatible from this version onwards. As such, the Definition Type is removed on the title screen as well.
• BPL BATTLE mode is currently available for machines set to EVENT MODE due to an oversight. [2]
• In-game currency is called LISNA.
• System voices are provided by Hihumi (voiced by Naomi Shindou) and Daruma (voiced by Yuu Kobayashi).
  • The system voices are only present in the Japanese version of the game.
• System BGM is composed by HuΣeR.
• The hidden Level 12 charts, as well as the 9th and 10th Dan courses, were made available on November 11th, 2021.
  • Chuuden and Kaiden Class courses, as well as the Kiwami Class mode, were added on January 6th, 2022.
    • The number of courses to obtain a Kiwami class is now lowered to three. To accommodate the changes, a damage multiplier is added, which subsequently increases the damage rate by x0.25 for each course cleared in succession.
    • The gauge limit for subsequent courses has also changed, this time calculating the CLEAR RATE for both courses minus 100%, with the value rounded down to the next even number (if the combined CLEAR RATE is less than 100%, the gauge is defaulted to 2% on the third attempt).
• ARENA mode was added on February 14th, 2022.
  • A new feature, "ARENA Mission" is added, where players can fulfill in-game conditions to receive bonus ARENA Cubes, making unlocking hidden charts or acquiring LISNA faster.
  • Pyramids and spheres are also added, which can be converted into ARENA Cubes after each session (two pyramids or four spheres).

CastHour SPACE

CastHour SPACE is beatmania IIDX 29's CastHour main unlock event, which began on December 16th, 2021. It will appear with one player only. e-amusement is required to play the event.

When the event begins, right before music select, you choose a PLATFORM with the turntable. Once you choose your PLATFORM, you then choose from a set of songs separated into what the game calls "channels". Playing songs fills the gauge of that channel, but you'll get double progress for playing songs under "Recommend Channel" (showing a clip of a beatmania IIDX song), as well as playing one of five songs/artists/genres (人気のワード) from the list below on the bottom part of the screen which change at each credit . Playing with a VIP BLACK PASS will also give you a large boost.

Once you reach certain points in the gauges, you'll unlock the NORMAL, HYPER, and ANOTHER charts of that song in that respective order, as well as LISNA and V-DISCs. (ANOTHER charts will always be the last unlock, regardless of what song you choose.) One more channel will be revealed after you unlock all previous ones; complete that to end the PLATFORM.

CastHour SPACE is also an EXTRA Stage system, and similar to past EXTRA STAGE systems, this only appears on PREMIUM START when playing on Japanese cabinets (which requires PASELI). Note that CastHour SPACE songs from past PLATFORMS are not required to unlock first. Unlike other PLATFORMs, these Hideout PLATFORMs cannot be regularly accessed, as indicated in a banner "MEMBER ONLY".

The sum of difficulty levels, DJ LEVEL, and clear type are the main requirements to make the songs available for EXTRA STAGE. All the charts are playable from the first day of a CastHour SPACE song's appearance. The conditions to access the EXTRA STAGE-exclusive songs change based on the Phase it is in:

No STYLE modifiers (FLIP, RANDOM, S-RANDOM, R-RANDOM and MIRROR) may be used.

By obtaining the same conditions when playing an EXTRA STAGE-exclusive song (currently only ANOTHER charts are available), the player will access ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE, retaining any modifiers used such as the gauge used and whether it is played on Single or Double. Unlike past EXTRA STAGE systems, these songs are not instantly unlocked for regular play (similar to Lincle and earlier regular EXTRA STAGE systems), thus the same unlocking conditions have to be fulfilled in order to play the song again. By clearing the respective ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE, the player unlocks a new LIGHTNING MODEL Premium Area customization item. Upon the appearance of a new Hideout PLATFORM, the previous Hideout songs are made available for unlock as like other PLATFORMs (and revealing the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE's NORMAL and HYPER charts for the first time).

Each song unlocked earns you a Bronze Tran Medal (Gold for Hideout PLATFORMs). Completing a PLATFORM unlocks a Silver Tran Medal (or Platinum for Hideout PLATFORMs).

A Black Tran Medal can be earned by receiving a Rival Bonus when a player who has you added as a rival plays a popular word song (人気のワード) with your DJ name attached to it.

WORLD TOURISM

The WORLD TOURISM event began on October 28th, 2021. It is a continuation of the event of the same name from beatmania IIDX 28 BISTROVER.

Event folders are added to the selection in one player Standard Mode only, playable on any stage. Playing a song from any folder will bring up a board with ten spaces between START and GOAL. Five spaces are awarded for playing a song (clear or fail does not matter), and an extra space is awarded for fulfilling each of the following conditions:

• DJ LEVEL AA or HARD CLEAR (or better)
• PREMIUM START (Japan only)
• LIGHTNING MODEL play

Once the Q-Pro reaches the GOAL, a bonus is awarded, and the remaining spaces will carry over to the next board in the folder. If on the last board, the remaining spaces are lost.

The following rewards are awarded for each goal, in order:

1. 2500 LISNA
2. 20 V-Discs
3. 5000 LISNA
4. 40 V-Discs
5. Unlockable song

Unlocking all six BPL TOURISM EXTRA songs will unlock a lane cover based on No Day But Today!.

After playing a song from an event folder, the folders will disappear for the rest of the credit. Once the song has been unlocked from a folder, it will disappear from the selection entirely.

X-record 第二弾 is the second phase of the collaboration event between the beatmania IIDX and SOUND VOLTEX series. This event can only be played on beatmania IIDX LIGHTNING MODEL and SOUND VOLTEX -Valkyrie model- machines running beatmania IIDX 29 CastHour and SOUND VOLTEX EXCEED GEAR, respectively. It started on January 27th, 2022 and ended on May 8th, 2022.

By playing beatmania IIDX during this event, you will earn 10 LM and 1 VM per play. Earning 100 VM unlocks 逆月, while earning 200 VM and 200 LM unlocks 2 Beasts Unchained.

Songs from the previous X-record event, BLACK or WHITE? and ディスコルディア, can be unlocked at 50 VM and 150 VM + 150 LM respectively if they were not unlocked previously.

WEEKLY RANKING

Event page.

The WEEKLY RANKING feature was added to beatmania IIDX 29 CastHour on November 10th, 2021. The WEEKLY RANKING song changes every Wednesday at 12:00 noon.

You earn a star (the day after the period for a song ends) if your score in the leaderboards for the featured song's chart is high enough. Note that stars depend on each song's chart on both single and double play, not on the whole song itself, which means you can earn up to six stars per song.

In the songlist menu, a bar shows your WEEKLY RANKING star progress on the featured song's chart; the arrow determines your current position in the leaderboards:

• White star: if the arrow is located in the white section.
• Bronze star: if the arrow is located in the cyan section.
• Silver star: if the arrow is located in the gray section.
• Gold star: if the arrow is located in the yellow section.
• Platinum star: if the arrow is located in the very small blue section (top 10 in the leaderboards).
