General Information

Tricoro-logo.png

  • Location test: April 18, 2012 - April 24, 2012
  • Release Date: September 19th (cabinets), September 25th 2012 (upgrade)
  • Slogan: 輪音転奏。Next Link Various Tunes Change the World [ TRI ] For The Future !!!

Info/Changes

  • First beatmania IIDX game with HD graphics.
  • Gameplay interface is overhauled.
  • Results screen pics return.
  • Total Notes information no longer on song results screens.
    • Music now plays on result screens, and they also display the difficulty and level of the song you played.
  • New songs have black backgrounds with yellow text. This is the first IIDX game since beatmania IIDX 4th style in which a game's new songs have black backgrounds, and the first in the series with colored text.
  • This is the first IIDX arcade game since their debuts in which TOMOSUKE, Seiya Murai, S.S.D., DJ Mass MAD Izm*, DJ Command, and PRASTIK DANCEFLOOR don't appear on the default songlist.
  • SABER WING, sakura storm, , Make A Difference, and Sweet Sweet ♥ Magic now have their dedicated videos from DanceDanceRevolution.
  • Modifier selection is overhauled:
    • The beginner option screen is offered by default; only "assist" modifiers can be selected on this screen (EASY, 5KEYS, AUTO SCRATCH, and LEGACY NOTE).
    • A more traditional modifier screen is also available; modifier categories have been reorganized so there are now four (STYLE, GAUGE, ASSIST, and RANGE), the first three of which can be cycled up and down by using the top and bottom key rows respectively.
    • A new options screen is introduced for selecting a ghost type, and options previously only accessible through codes (JUDGE among others).
    • You can cycle through these options screens with the Effect Change and VEFX buttons.
  • HI-SPEED is overhauled:
    • HI-SPEED can now only be changed by holding Start in-game; it is no longer available from the modifier screen.
    • The HI-SPEED range is now 0.5 to 10.0, and values now correspond to the speed multiplier applied to chart, meaning HS 1.0 is equivalent to no HS on previous IIDX versions. (Multiplier values for HS mods in previous versions can be found here.)
    • With SUDDEN+ disabled, you can set HI-SPEED with the turntable in .01 increments from 0.5 to 10.0.
    • With SUDDEN+ enabled, you can increase and decrease HI-SPEED by .25 increments with the black and white keys respectively within the same range.
    • This is the first release since CS 6th style to feature LOW-SPEED (by using a HI-SPEED value under 1.0).
  • You can now switch the score graph and movie's locations by pressing the Start button on the side opposite the one you are playing on.
  • Players can now see how they rank on a specific song against other players in the same arcade.
  • The default Extra Stage is now called LIMIT BURST.
  • First beatmania IIDX game with no Expert Mode.
  • Various older songs had their overlays removed from their videos due to the overhauled interface. Full list here.

Staff Information

  • L.E.D. and 猫叉Master are known sound directors this time around, the latter's first in BEMANI.

Extra Stage

Normal Extra Stage

In Standard Mode, during your final stage, the following conditions will allow you to access the Extra Stage:

  • obtaining a perfect combo
  • obtaining a full combo on a 5 or greater on Single Play or a 4 or greater on Double Play
  • finishing with 100% gauge on a 7 or greater on Single Play or a 6 or greater on Double Play
  • clearing an 8 or greater on Single Play or a 7 or greater on Double Play

What happens during your first two stages has no influence on whether or not a normal extra stage is attainable, so you could, for example, fail the first two stages with a DJ VIP Pass and still obtain an Extra Stage as long as you met the conditions on the final stage.

Sol Cosine Job 2 (beatmania IIDX LIMIT BURST)

New Decade IIDX Edition (DanceDanceRevolution X2 LIMIT BURST)

  • Qualify for normal Extra Stage requirements.
  • All three stages must be transplants from the DanceDanceRevolution series or remixes of DanceDanceRevolution songs. (bag, 革命, Fascination MAXX, PARANOiA ~HADES~, switch, sakura storm, B4U, SABER WING, 華爛漫 -Flowers-, etc.)
  • 10/31/2012 UPDATE: The following requirements have been removed.
  • To unlock the NORMAL chart, all three songs' difficulties must add up to at least 18.
  • To unlock the HYPER chart, all three songs' difficulties must add up to at least 27 and be cleared on Normal gauge or above.
  • To unlock the ANOTHER chart, all three songs' difficulties must add up to at least 33 and be cleared on Hard gauge or above.
  • Even if a DJ VIP Pass was used, failing a single stage will prevent New Decade IIDX Edition from appearing.
  • WARNING: If the 3 DanceDanceRevolution songs played are also OMES songs (eg. 革命, Fascination MAXX and PARANOiA ~HADES~ in one playthrough), the LIMIT BURST song will be defaulted to Sol Cosine Job 2.

LEGEND CROSS

The LEGEND CROSS system, introduced on October 10, 2012, lets you unlock new songs by obtaining Astran lights. These LEGEND CROSS boss songs are mash-ups of songs from their respective versions.

Astran Light Requirements

You can obtain an Astran light by playing a four-song set (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Extra) of songs from the same style's folder while following that style's criteria. Normal, Hyper, and Another each have their own Astran light. Playing all four songs on the same difficulty will unlock that difficulty's Astran light. If you choose to play songs on different difficulties, then the Astran light for the highest difficulty used for at least 2 songs will be awarded.

  1. IIDX RED: have the medal for completing the first year of Step Up Mode
  2. 2nd style: accumulate at least 1000/2000/3000 (N/H/A) DJ points
  3. 6th style: have the medal for beating five daily challenge songs
  4. DistorteD: have the medal for clearing Dani Nintei mode (kyu-levels do not matter)
  5. GOLD: have all the medals for clearing at least one song for every style for the difficulty you're targeting
  6. Resort Anthem: get 573 EX score on a song
  7. 10th style: finish at least one song with floating Hi-Speed set to 5.73
  8. 8th style: set the pacemaker graph to 573
  9. DJ TROOPERS: finish at least one song with a SUDDEN+ green number of 573
  10. Lincle: at the song select screen, select the 1st song when the timer reaches 5, the 2nd song when the timer reaches 7, and the 3rd song when the timer reaches 3
  11. UNKNOWN: obtain boss crystals for the first five bosses
  12. UNKNOWN: Clear Plan 8 (ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE)

CS Revival Unlocks

Boss Unlocks

  • SYNC-ANTHEM: Obtain Astran lights 1 (IIDX RED) and 6 (Resort Anthem) for the same difficulty to unlock that difficulty's chart.
  • ΕΛΠΙΣ: Obtain Astran lights 2 (2nd style) and 7 (10th style) for the same difficulty to unlock that difficulty's chart.
  • rumrum triplets: Obtain Astran lights 3 (6th style) and 8 (8th style) for the same difficulty to unlock that difficulty's chart.
  • S!ck: Obtain Astran lights 4 (DistorteD) and 9 (DJ TROOPERS) for the same difficulty to unlock that difficulty's chart.
  • CONCEPTUAL: Obtain Astran lights 5 (GOLD) and 10 (Lincle) for the same difficulty to unlock that difficulty's chart.
  • Thor's Hammer: Obtain Astran light 11 (UNKNOWN) by obtaining all the boss crystals (see below). On the next playthrough, access the LEGEND CROSS folder and press the Effect button to select Thor's Hammer.
  • Plan 8 (One More Extra Stage minimum requirements):
    • NORMAL: Easy Clear Thor's Hammer with a C rank to access this chart. (rank unconfirmed)
    • HYPER: Easy Clear Thor's Hammer with a B rank to access this chart.
    • ANOTHER: Easy Clear Thor's Hammer with an A rank to access this chart.
    • RANDOM must NOT be used.
    • Note: Accessing Plan 8 will consume half of all the boss crystals, causing Thor's Hammer to be relocked. Therefore, you need to acquire the other half of the boss crystal in order to unlock Thor's Hammer again.
    • (Extra Stage requirements) Obtain Astran light 12 (UNKNOWN) by clearing Plan 8 under OMES conditions. On the next playthrough, access the LEGEND CROSS folder and press the Effect and VEFX buttons simultaneously to select Plan 8. Boss crystals won't be consumed.

Boss Crystals

Each boss is listed twice in the LEGEND CROSS folder; it is listed once as Older Style x Newer Style and once as Newer Style x Older Style. A crystal can be obtained if you satisfy the minimum requirements for both versions:

  • NORMAL: Easy Clear with at least a C rank
  • HYPER: Easy Clear with at least a B rank
  • ANOTHER: Easy Clear with at least an A rank
  • When playing Old x New: RANDOM and related modifiers cannot be used to count towards the crystal.
  • When playing New x Old: RANDOM must be used (only in SINGLE PLAYER mode) to count towards the crystal.
