Release Information

File:7th.gif

  • Release date:
    • May 13th, 2004 (limited Konamistyle release)
    • August 5th, 2004 (full retail release)

General Information / Changes

  • Ranking Courses based play.
  • First CS beatmania IIDX game to enable an Arcade-style song option menu.
  • First CS beatmania IIDX game to be able to set HS mods for each song.
  • First CS beatmania IIDX game in which playing songs in ARCADE MODE is not required to play them in FREE MODE.
  • First CS beatmania IIDX game to show proper videos for songs on Double, instead of an assortment of various videos.
  • Last CS beatmania IIDX game until beatmania IIDX 11 IIDX RED CS to display full judgements (JUST GREAT, GREAT, etc.) for songs in RECORDS. The next three CS games would only list a song's EX score, miss count, and combo on the music select screen.
  • Only CS beatmania IIDX game with Masters Mode (see below).
  • Only CS beatmania IIDX game since 3rd style CS with no new CS songs.
  • First CS style to have preview songs from later arcade beatmania IIDX games, a trend that would continue for near every future CS beatmania IIDX release.
  • All songs from beatmania IIDX 7th style that had unique title cards, except for A, have been replaced with the standard font.
  • beatmania IIDX 7th style CS started a trend where all of a game's new arcade original songs did not receive BEGINNER charts since the introduction of BEGINNER charts in beatmania IIDX 5th style -new songs collection-. This would continue for three more games.
  • Total songs: 90

Master's Mode

A modified version of Survival mode. Master's Mode has you play all of the songs in the game on either LIGHT7/LIGHT14, 7KEYS/14KEYS, or ANOTHER(7)/ANOTHER(14) (if you select ANOTHER(7)/ANOTHER(14), songs without Anothers will be played on 7KEYS/14KEYS). There are a number of differences between Master's Mode and Survival Mode, however:

  1. You can choose the order in which you will play the songs.
  2. You can change high-speed settings before each song.
  3. You can save your game between songs if you exit Master's Mode (it will let you continue your unfinished game if you reselect Master's Mode).
  4. You can have up to three different Master's Mode progress files at once.
  5. If you fail a song in Master's Mode, you are given a potion (provided you meet the requirements) which will refill your life to maximum. However, you are required to start over all the way from the beginning. Failing multiple times will allow you to accumulate multiple potions. To gain a potion, you must clear the number of songs (or more) from a specific set equal to the number of potions you would have at the end. For Light 7, the songs must be 6 stars or higher. For 7 Keys, the songs must be flashing 7s. For Another, the songs are: 5.1.1., Colors (radio edit), DXY! GET ON BEAT (WILD STYLE), Holic, Kakumei, MAX 300, NEMESIS, Regulus, Spica, stoic, sync, THE SAFARI, Tomorrow Perfume and V. Light 7 and 7 Keys have 10 potions as the maximum, while 16 can be earned under Another.
  6. Your groove gauge maximum increases over time. At the beginning, your groove gauge has a maximum of 100%. With each song you clear, its maximum will increase by 2% up to a maximum of 198%.
  7. When you play through all 88 normal songs (murmur twins is not included), Abyss -The Heavens Remix- will appear as your 89th and final song. Clear Abyss -The Heavens Remix- to unlock it on the selected difficulty (and everything below).

Unlock Information

  • To unlock murmur twins, play every 7th style AC song (listed as blue in the songlist, or alternately use the "Display New" filter to show only 7th AC songs). You do not need to clear them all, just play them each at least once.
  • To unlock Abyss -The Heavens Remix-, clear Master's Mode on the following difficulties to unlock the following notecharts:
    • Clear Master's Mode LIGHT7/LIGHT14: Abyss -The Heavens Remix- LIGHT7/LIGHT14 unlocked.
    • Clear Master's Mode 7KEYS/14KEYS: Abyss -The Heavens Remix- 7KEYS/14KEYS and LIGHT7/LIGHT14 unlocked.
    • Clear Master's Mode ANOTHER(7)/ANOTHER(14): Abyss -The Heavens Remix- ANOTHER(7)/ANOTHER(14), 7KEYS/14KEYS, and LIGHT7/LIGHT14 unlocked.
  • To unlock backside expert courses, name an original course any of the following:
    • BOSS

    • GOODCOOL
    • NAOKI
    • LIVE
