General Information / Changes

• DVD-based hardware replaces the previously used VCD-based setup for background movies, resulting in more crisp picture quality.
  • Unfortunately, when the DVD player fails, videos are turned off and only display the VICTOR logo (VICTOR being the DVD player brand). This was especially common on older 6th style machines.
• Artists for songs are displayed now on the music select screen.
• The new font for a note combo is first used in this game up to beatmania IIDX 8th style, replacing the font previously used since the series' beginning.
• First style to feature grades after song completion, ranging from AAA to F.
• First style with HARD mode.
• First style to allow options to be set for each individual song.
• First style to let you freely switch between difficulty levels (such as LIGHT and 7/14KEY and back) on song select. Older beatmania IIDX games required you to choose a song and then allowed you to change their difficulty upon selecting.
• sync has its own unique video now.
• Both existing Lion Musashi songs are now 150 BPM.
  • THE SAFARI is also higher pitched. However, GET ON BEAT (WILD STYLE)'s pitch is not changed.
• Interface features a lot of lavender and light purples.
